Home of the Cowboys, Dallas is one of the largest cities in Texas and boasts a fantastic arts scene, family-friendly attractions and authentic Tex-Mex paired with the city's creation – frozen margaritas.
The Arts District in Downtown Dallas features a host of interesting museums – from history and science to art and sculpture. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza pays homage to President John F. Kennedy at the site of his assassination, while the Perot Museum of Nature and Science houses 11 informative exhibits in a contemporary building. Art lovers will be spoilt for choice with the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and Crow Museum of Asian Art located just a few steps from each other. Then there’s Meadows Museum, home to one of the largest collections of Spanish art in the United States, including works by masters like Picasso, Dalí and Goya.
For panoramic views over Dallas, head to the Reunion Tower, which features an outdoor observation deck at a height of 143 metres. It’s also well worth your time to visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, a 66-acre space that overlooks the White Rock Lake and showcases stunning seasonal blooms and festive displays year round. If you’re travelling with kids, Dallas Zoo promises an educational experience with activities like giraffe feeding, African safari and bird encounters. You can also get up close with penguins, exotic rainforest birds and plenty of marine life at the Dallas World Aquarium.

We stayed in the city of Dallas.
May 24, 2023
We stayed in the city of Dallas. We thought we could use Uber Black for the week's stay, so we did not rent a car. The area where we were residing was under construction. I wish I had known. Dallas, I hate doing this to you, but I must tell the truth. We could barely find some good eating places. We dined at The Town Hearth, Ocean Prime, and Truluck's. The food was great! However, some nights, you want to find some great bbq or amazing fried chicken. There were no good little places to eat. I went home disappointed in that regard. We did visit Dallas Holocaust & Human Rights Museum and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. We took in a show at The Majestic Theater. I enjoyed it, but unfortunately, that is all I enjoyed. Next time I will stay in a hotel instead of renting a townhouse. I will also rent a car instead of using an Uber. I did not see any famous steers or cowboy/cowgirl hats. Nothing stood out! A big letdown but that was my fault.
The room was clean and the area was quiet.

The room was clean and the area was quiet. However, the only ice machine that worked was on the first floor and we were on the fourth floor, so, getting ice wasn’t convenient. The breakfast they offered was frozen breakfast sandwiches and a small bowl of fruit for $26. We went elsewhere for breakfast after the first morning. The breakfast was the worst thing about the hotel. The cleanliness and quietness of the property was the best.
I enjoyed staying at the Fairmont hotel in Dallas.

I enjoyed staying at the Fairmont hotel in Dallas. It was downtown close to every thing. I had to book my own stay because the Contemporary Mid Rise Apartments that I booked on Booking.com had a strong Marijuana smell, the hallway was filthy, and there was no running water.
Dallas was clean.

I booked my reservation, paid for it.

I booked my reservation, paid for it. When I got there I was not allowed to stay. I disputed the transaction to my bank who credited my account. According to booking.com, I was refunded. However, my bank reversed my credit. So, now I have a negative balance.
We enjoyed the spring break visit.

We enjoyed the spring break visit. Dallas World Aquarium was great. The stockyards in FW is worth the drive. The mall in Arlington is awesome especially if you have little kids as there's an ice skating rink, bowling/arcade facility.
