What can we say? Wifi and electricity may be spotty and there is no hamburger. But this place is so unique! Remote, so if you don’t want that, this is not for you. But if you look for a place to remember disconnected from everything. This is it.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. A perfect way to experience the jungle in a responsible and memorable way.

At Magpie homestay & jungle trekking especially for guest trekking with us, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner, lunch and high tea and specialises in Indonesian cuisine. This was by far our best stay during our whole trip in Indonesia. The bungalows were both very comfortable, we stayed in one before and the other one after the jungle tour. The place is beautifully decorated with a lot of plants and animals to see in the garden. The owner was super friendly and helped us to arrange the 3-day jungle tour, a village tour, transportation to and from Bukit Lawang, the food, and she even gave us medicine when we were ill. There is a restaurant on the property, at which you can order delicious food any hour. Such a lovely stay, this made our time in Bukit Lawang unforgettable! Thank you so much for everything!
