I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

‘Friendly owner Shan.so helpful and took us on early morning safari! He also organized transport for us which worked out great. An Amazing Cottages are clean, location is great for a pit stop before or after a safari.then thanks for everything!

Loved the warm welcome, hospitality was exceptional, and the food was amazing!

It was exceptional, my daughter and I were alone in the hotel and on the property, which is a one-time experience. We enjoyed the team, the owner, the spice garden tour with explanations, the superb pool and grounds, the frogs at night and birds and monitors by day, the unavoidable ants, and the fresh fruit & veggies. It is the perfect stay upon arrival or before departure, since it is not far from the international airport in Colombo. It is cozy, with much comfort, good service, and the 9 rooms spread into 6 pavilions make it seem very intimate. There is an ayurvedic treatment spa, and it is perfect to recharge, work remotely (which I did while overseeing my 7 y.o. in the pool), and laze around. Book 2 nights minimum for improved appreciation before heading to your Sri Lankan discovery tour & adventures!

I would like to thank our host Franzi, Kiki and the rest of the team for treating us with the upmost respect and kindness. The wonderful staff was very attentive and made everyone feel at home at all times. Everything has been taken care of from the day we arrived to when we left. Breakfast was fantastic with a lot of varieties. Everything was freshly made with passion and love. Franzi would occasionally give us a ride with the tuktuk when going out, or in need of a quick transport. Her driving skills are simply unmatched and deserves mentioning. The days felt nice and long as the property offers a safe space to retreat from the busy, chaotic roads further south, making you enjoy every second at the property more. Stunning views from all corners into the vast ocean with unforgettable sunsets leave you speechless. Our trip through SriLanka was rapidly transformed from an adventurous busy holiday to a perfect relaxing safe space with direct access to the beach. Leaving this place makes me extremely sad but I am hoping to return soon again to spend some more quality time with the wonderful people I’ve met here, and can call friends. Amazing, the hosts were so lovely! The property is clean and inviting, the breakfast was superb! One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka! They have a local tuk tuk driver that you can call from reception, the property is in walking distance to the town.

Such a gorgeous place to stay in the rainforest! The hosts can also do a guided forest walk with you which was the highlight of our stay! They were so knowledgeable and the food here was INCREDIBLE!!

quick drive from the main road . clean and peaceful place with a nice big pool. actually its from their other hotel's they gave us the transport and made us have the pool. so beautiful.
