Around this hostel is also there are some cool and nice cafe, yet this place is quite and peaceful during the night. The room and the bathroom was so comfortable, very clean and spacious, and it has a spacious balcony that you can enjoy your morning or night there, facing the hills and the mountain. There are also cafe in the hostel so you can order your drink and meals conveniently, the food was really good and the masala chai was so nice. The best part was the hospitality of the staff. Tarun was incredibly amazing! He was so cool, so friendly, and so patient. He gave me a lot of suggestions about things to do around Dharamkot. He really tried his best to help all the traveler and I really appreciate this attitude. There was also a super sweet girl, Sakshi who was really so warm and friendly. I traveled alone and ended up having great times with her, it’s like having a new best friend whom you could chat a lot. For me, Shalom backpackers is not only a great place to stay but also a wonderful place that offer a warm friendship for the travellers. In fact, for me this is the best hostel when I traveled around India. Highly recommended!”

“This small scale recently renovated heratige hotel located just outside Dharamkot is a little difficult to find as its secluded in the forest, between beautiful old trees. The hotel is all about relaxing and enjoying nature. It's quiet and tranquil, small scale, family oriented, very heart warming service and they serve some seriously great food. They have a Yoga room, library with a romantic fireplace, and a great kitchen. The rooms are basic but luxurious at the same time. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms have heaters which is brilliant in the winter months when it can get quite cold at night. If you want a couple of days to relax this is an excelent choice. It's quiet and in the forest. In fact the forest life starts just outside the room and it's inspiring to witness. In the late morning and early afternoon the main spetical of the day takes place as the forest monkeys that live in the trees in the area come roam the grounds. Just sit back and watch how they groom each other, swing on the branches, loudly discuss their matters, eat leaves and cheakily try and get into the hotel's kitchen to snatch a banana or two. They are the cutest ever!!! We had breakfast and lunch and must say they were amazing. Pancake with Forrest fruit (banana papaya, melon) and chocolate, the vegan yoghurt with musli, fresh fruits, and oatmeal were to die for and a great start to the day. The traditional Indian lunch (rice, Dahl, potato's, and roti) was super tasty and more than enough even after a strenuous hike (up to Triund). The kitchen was also the cleanest and most organised I've ever seen in India! The German owners influence is clearly visible!”
