They helped us organise taxis, gave us advice on how to get places, and always seemed like they were actively trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We asked for a later check out time on the day we were leaving, expecting that this probably wasn't possible. Our room was already booked, but they did what they could to give us as late as possible, and they seemed concerned it wasn't good enough. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a TV and air conditioner in our room. There was a nice rooftop space with hammocks and deck chairs to hang out on with a view overlooking the lagoon. The wifi was good downstairs and ok in our rooms. Sometimes it dropped out. The breakfast was delicious and included in our stay. We had toast, fruit, tea/coffee and then could order off the menu (chilaquiles, eggs, omelettes etc). The location was on the south side of the town, but close enough to walk to the main square, fort, restaurants and public swimming areas. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.”

“What a beautiful location - absolutely on the lake with boardwalks and bathing points out into the water. Didn’t use the kayaks but could have. Staff really helpful - kept the restaurant open just for us. Rooms well designed as cabins with mosquito needed beds, fans (The design would make air-conditioning impossible) and en-suite shower and loo - sort of open-air. The toilet is compostable - no flush and lots of sawdust but very well done. Idyllic!”

“Felt like home, Miguel the host went out of his way to make our stay the best it could possibly be. The common area and garden was comfortable and scenic. For breakfast we had toasts with jam and peanut butter, cereal, fruit and coffee/tea (even ice for an iced coffee/tea when it got warmer out). Our room was great, hot shower with a good stream. We like walking, so the 10-15 minutes to the lagoon wasn't an issue, and a 30 MXN taxi was a perfect solution when it rained. Miguel showed us around Bacalar town in his buggy and let us stay late while we waited for our bus, treating us with coffee and cookies, and offered to drive us to the bus station when it rained. Miguel is truly the best!”

“we went to stay 3 Nights in Tucan Village and Sergio the host told us we where one of the first guests. the location is great and you have private acess to the Cenote. The walk to the town is about 20-30 minutes walk, in the end we where glad to had a car, since my mom has diffciculties to walk long distances. The Hosts and the Location is Great, alltho compared to the prices that is slightly overpriced in my opinion, i would recommend to improve a couple of things. The Breakfast honestly is not worth to mention, (cup of coffe and a dry sweet bread) i think if you serve some fruits and a bit more variation in the breakfast your guests will apreciate it a lot! we where with 4 people and had differente opinons, two people from our group thought that it was expensive for what it is and what they offer, the other two thought it was ok, but about the breakfast we all had the same opinion. As well because there is not much around to have a good breakfast so i think it will improve a lot your buisness. The Rooms where clean but had litterally no Glass windows, they had windows but it was blocked with wooden panels that you could open but there was no glass or mosquito net. Another point was there was no showergel or shampoo offered, basicly just some handsoap and a really small package of shampoo that i thought somebody forgot, not enough for four people. We had to ask two times for new toilet paper since it wasnt refilled in the room, and maybe another point to mention is that its really close to the highway, you can hear trucks on the highway in the night. Now, writing all this and reviewing my stay i would give high points for the Hosts that i personally liked and the fact that you can jump literally from the garden into the cenote , but fo the rest i would give less points since i see there is a lot to improve. anyhow i wish the Hosts good luck with their plans and i hope they use my comments not as offend but use them to improve their service and offer.”

“This is the perfect place where to stay in Bacalar. They have the best part of the lagoon it’s a kind of modern camping . In the price of the room you have everything included like kayaks, amaca in the water ecc. The property is always there to help you organise your tour, they also do tour in the lagoon with an extra small charge so you don’t even have to move from there to do a tour . The family it’s amazing I felt like a was at home, ready to suggest you restaurant ecc. If I will never go back in Bacalar I will definitely choose this place again. A big big thanks to Raul so kind and helpful.”

“At first a little tricky to find, but it's a beautiful place, great way to take a step back from the daily hassles. Bicycles available free of charge so it was pretty easy to take a nice ride around the coastal road and into town. Kayaks and paddles are available also at no extra charge and the hosts are always available to help out with tour reservations or pretty much anything you need. Definitely would stay here again.”

“Cabanas Pucte is an amazing property with three nicely decorated and spacious cabanas. Large grass loan with trees covered with lanterns leads to pristine blue waters. Easy access, white sand, no seaweed. Very private and quiet. You can swim, hang out in the hammock in the water, use paddle boards (two available free to use on premises) or rent a kayak or a sail boat from the neighbors. The is always someone on the property to help or unswear questions (in spanish). This was the most relaxing vacation ever. The seven color lagoon is stunning and you can spent hours in the water. Beautiful setting. At night the lanterns light up the whole garden. It's simply beautiful. Staff is very friendly and cabanas are comfortable and clean. This place is magical.”
