Very good price and it is close to the down town area.
Sometimes the parking is less than desirable as you have to park on the street.
Good location in heart of Nelson. Room quiet and comfortable. Staff friendly.
Very confining within four cement walls and not even a decent window. Good for sleeping but not for relaxing at any other times of day.
It was close to everything.Easy walk to shopping and restaraunts. Good breakfast.Liked that there was a fridge.
Only one chair in king size room and could have used a little table.
The most important thing to me was cleanliness, nice beds and good bedding and this place scored well on all that. I loved the location. Shopping is right there and great restaurants too. It's not fancy but you can't beat the price!
I didn't like that there was no elevator because my husband was on crutches.
Very close to various restaurants, bars and shops
Who ever came up with the idea that a muffin and an apple is a continental breakfast has clearly never been on the continent! Bathtub was disgusting!
right in downtown nelson so everything was very close and easy to get to staff was very helpful with anything we needed or asked about
we had to come back home too soon
the bed was very comfortable room was clean
no elevator no fridge our window looked out at a wall and 2 other airconditioner
Location Air con
Beds not properly made. No coffee making facilities in room.
Room was comfortable and quiet.
Air conditioning was marginal. Wi-Fi was slow and intermittent.
It is central, quiet and with friendly and obliging staff, nice clean rooms with no danger of fire. i slept like a log.
Our view was of three short brick walls. But who cares - i came to see the rest of Nelson and Balfour
The design is rather spare and I liked it, since what I want is a clean, comfortable place in the middle of town, and don't care about frills. They have no restaurant, but there is a good restaurant across the street, and others nearby. Continental breakfast included, with really good muffins and coffee.
location, price for that time of year
aircon very noisy
The location is superb. The room was small but very tidy and comfortable. Overall, the experience was very positive.
STAIRS; I have great difficulty climbing, and these were very steep.
This is our second stay at the Mountain Hound Inn! I love the quiet brick rooms and the location, is the best! The bed was very comfortable and linens were soft, just like staying at home! The complimentary breakfast; muffin, some fruit and a good cup of coffee is a great start to the day! It's defiantly the best value for the price. Every where else was a lot more expensive and we love the dog friendly atmosphere!
There could be more attention to cleaning the rooms. We had a dirty towel, toilet and cobwebs, hanging on the ceiling.
In town, near eateries.
Parking metres 9a.m.-.5p.m. Steep stairs, no lift, hard for seniors to get heavy luggage up there.
I stayed 3 nights and no one cleaned my room the last night! Room window looked into the next building and the next room!
Comfortable, clean. The laundry next door is a good touch.
Cement block walls, kind of small for a big bed. AC loud. Turned it off. Common problem, not just here.
I loved the comfortable beds and the very friendly and personable staff members. I also enjoyed the downtown location.
Location, comfortable bed, very nice and helpful staff
Needed a comfortable chair and reading light. Our view was not good in room 114. The continental breakfast was adequate but was very basic compared to other hotels we stayed in. Obviously space was an issue.
Handy downtown location on Baker St. Rooms clean, bed was comfortable. Had a fridge, tv and a/c.
Bathroom tub and shower while operable needed some repairs. Very basic amenities provided. Walls in room were of "concrete block" style, rather cold feeling.
Very central location. Easy WiFi connection. Clean & comfy.
Parking limited to paying on the street. Breakfast was very minimal.
It was very quiet and in an awesome location. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The beds were comfortable. I liked the breakfast tray each morning, it was a nice perk.
I think having a coffee machine in the rooms might be something nicer for guests. Some people don't want to go to the lobby to get coffee first thing in the morning. It is also nice to have hot water to have a late night tea. Just a thought.
We booked a delux room with a view. But if this was a delux room, i wonder what the normal room looks like. The room was thiny . 'The view' they menioned was of a bussy street, so also not great.
The best location in the heart of the city , so close to all the restaurants etc. We were cycling the Selkirk loop with a tandem and they were very bike friendly. They lock our bike in a big secure room ,we did not have to carry it to our room.
Loved the location and the staff were very helpful
