How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

The only thing was that there was no closet where we could put our clothes.
Really good place. Good location. Good support from the owners of the house. It was very convenient to leave our ski near lifts in the depot and go back to the house without them.

We loved our stay in Alkira. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The room was spacious as well as the shower. Everything was very clean and new. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast included breads/cheeses/meats; yogurt, jams, fruits, eggs, cereals - plenty to choose from. There was a ski room to dry ski boots and a voucher to keep the snowboards in the storage near the lift. Absolutely an amazing place to stay!

The hotel was about 5 floors and there is no elevator.
We did not have a breakfast plan but fresh bread was delivered to our unit every morning.

We had no dislikes.
Barbara and Chris were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good, area was fine, a short walk downhill to the ski lift in the morning. We got a ticket from Alkira so we could store our skis and boots down beside the lift which was great. Beds were very comfortable and everything was super clean. Would definately reccomend come back again. 😊

For one night, the hotel is expensive, but this is to be expected being peak season in a popular ski resort.
Christopher and Barbara were extremely welcoming and friendly, providing us with all the information we needed for our stay. The rooms were clean, spacious and had comfy beds.

Clean and spacious room with good kitchen facilities. Balcony with great view of the mountain opposite. Owners were very friendly and helpful.

Five minute downhill walk into town, but very steep on way back!
Large room, very clean,lovely Mountain View. Modern bathroom with great walk in shower. Very friendly hosts, gave us lots of helpful information about local hikes, surrounding villages, places to eat etc. Owners were Australian and Austrian, so no language problems.

Good breakfast and very friendly staff. The location was much closer to town than we expected and we were provided with passes to store our ski-gear right by the lift.

In every aspect of our interactions, from initial queries to our ultimate departure, the owners have been wonderful! The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations! Loved the comfortable beds, down comforters and pillows, wonderful bathrooms, breakfast was fresh and delicious! The housekeeping was unobtrusive and excellent. Home away froym home! The house wasn’t far from main downtown area- so you can easily walk - or there is a bus that is steps away from their door! It was my daughter’s birthday and they made her feel special, which we really appreciated!! We will be back!

The stay was extraordinary super comfortable, safe, friendly (awesome hosts), cozy, central, great public transportation connections (bus by the door and near ski lifts). The hotel has a pass that enables you to store the ski gear nearby the lift everyday which was awesome

Nothing to complain about. It is a (short) steep hill to walk after a long day skiing, but then again the bus stops at the door for those who prefer not to walk. And it is actually nice to live a little bit away from the center of town.
Me and my wife stayed a week skiing in the Arlberg area and chose Alkira kind of randomly, which we do not regret. Really friendly staff/owners. Barbara and Christopher was very helpful and knew the area well. They made us feel welcome and comfortable. Good breakfast in nice environment, everything you need to get a perfect start in the morning. The room was spacious and fresh (doubleroom deluxe), well maintained and comfortable and with a great view. All in all a very nice place to stay for a week, and we will probably be returning.

Stayed at Alkira as a group of 13 for our annual ski holiday. As one of the highest ranking accommodation in St Anton, we knew we were in for a great stay. Having organised ski holidays as a group for almost ten years, this is by far the best accommodation experience we have had in that time. Barbara met us at our coach on arrival and took time to not only show us to our rooms, but also give us recommendations for the resort and how we should spend our time. We met Christopher at breakfast each morning (which was superb, I should add!) who found it no trouble to help us map out each day. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Barbara or Christopher. Cannot recommend Alkira enough and thank you for making our holiday an enjoyable one!

Everything was great with Alkira really, amazing place!
Nice breakfast, very friendly owners, familiy atmosphere. Large, cozy room with wonderful view. Well situated within walking distance to the ski lift- and you can also take a free bus to take you there.
