Verified reviews from real guests

How does it work?

It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are, and more.

And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

This studio apartment was extremely clean and comfortable with a good shower, TV and well equipped kitchenette. They provided plenty of clean towels and pillows and handwash etc. They even provided breakfast cereal and fresh milk, alongside the tea and coffee. Also very easy access to the centre of Croydon.

Nothing.

This hotel might have 4 stars, but what happened to me was below-the-floor service. Booked in advance for 3 nights (27.-30.12.) with not-refundable rate. 600 pounds = ca. 900 Euros. Due to a series of unexpented events I couldn’t go. I phoned them on 26.12., saying „I know, this booking is not-refundable. But I won’t be able to come. So, since you know now, certainly you can sell the room to someone else and we might find an arrangement like I get back 50%?“ – The answer was: „Thanks for informing us that you won’t take the room, so we can sell it to someone else. And: No, you don’t get any money back from us.“ Being a frequent traveller and a member of German Parliament, I can a) tell that this sort of cynic dealing with a customer never happened to me before and b) I will tell the parliamentary office in Berlin to put this hotel on the black list when it comes to official booking. Charming, helpful and polite staff. Luxurious furnishings. Small bouitique hotel. Door manned 24hrs giving excellent security. Close access to Sloane Square and King's Road. Taxis frequently pass by the hotel.

There was no bar, which we would have used. We did use room service once. The sofa was uncomfortable, and the room dark, and the overhead spotlights, though on a dimmer, were harsh. The bath had been enamel-painted and a substantial area of paint was peeling off. Paint was peeling off the ceiling too. The marble sink-surround had been inexpertly repaired.

We had a nice room and were very close to Earls Court Station. Most of the staff were obliging and helpful.

The staff member who checked us in was irritating on many levels. She was patronising, overly polite and her main concern was to join us up to a rewards scheme. She offered us an attic room for which access was a flight of stairs. Not ideal for a seventy year old couple. She then said she would give us an upgrade. The room was very nice but seemed to match the one described on our booking sheet. Our safe did not work and remained so for our four night stay. Because of this we were offered dinner, a main meal and a glass of wine each. We accepted this but the waiter was not told of these arrangements and when he mistakenly went to leave the bottle of wine on our table another staff member unceremoniously snatched it. Very embarrassing and humiliating for us and the waiter. He came back later and apologised to us, not his fault

As an avid traveler I've been to many hotels in my life and according to me what brings a customer back or impresses the customer are the people and the staff they deal with at the hotel. My experience with Taj was beyond exceptional since the time I walked in. The staff made me feel at home and were there for my every need. Great rooms with great service. There isn't much I could ask for at Taj as everything was available. I will definitely come back and stay there again.

If they could only work on the wifi facilities in the building that would be amazing as it was turning on and off all day and it required a log in every time I would try to use the Internet.

Recently refurbished old public school (Chesterton was a pupil here), this brand new hotel is good value for the money, especially if one takes into account the price of accomodation in London. Within walking distance from Kensington (35 min), it is also conveniently placed near the underground.

Very welcoming staff on Reception and concierge was very helpful. The suite was excellent, large well furnished and great small kitchen as well. To get a suite of this quality for the price of a small room at other 5* London hotels is an absolute bargain. We will definately stay again

I was with my daughter, and we realny liked the hotel. The room was big and despite being old, very clean. The hotel was in great location, 5 minute walk along the beautiful park to the metro station, very close to big shopping mall, and many small fast foods and restaurants. The surroundings are very nice. The owner of the hotel is the nicest man! Very helpful! The wi-fi in the hotel is free. We would love to come bank there, next time we're in London.

The only disadvantage is that the toilette and the bathroom are outside the room, but it's not a big deal

I liked most things about this Hotel. It was genuinely hard to fault on almost every level. Great staff, comfortable, clean and quiet for its location.

I felt I was paying over the odds due to its superb location. Next time I would stay 2 or 3 miles further out for half the price and spend a bit on Taxi's. The Brumus restaurant was good, but not good enough for a hotel of this quality and price. Be aware - Soholistic is not a Spa, it is a Gym and a treatment room as stated in the brochure. On re-reading the details this was my mistake so I can't fault the hotel, but others may jump to the same conclusion on seeing the photo of the wonderful (spotlessly clean) pool.

The Covent Garden Hotel was ideally situated, minutes from our theatre and handy for shopping. Monmouth street is a little oasis in a busy city centre. The rooms are spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and the staff are attentive and courteous. Food is excellent and the cocktails are second to none!

The hotel could do with a residents only bar / dining room. The main dining area and bar are first class but very popular with passers by and regular patrons making it extremely busy from midday until midnight. On our visit finding a place to sit was sometimes an issue. Whilst there is a small unmaned honesty bar in the longe this didn't really give us another serious option.

Cheap room, very small but fair for the price/location.

A couple of things annoyed me. 1: There was a fire alarm at 5.30am. When I called the desk they confirmed there was no issue, and to ignore... There was no apology.. 2: I paid £105 for a very small single room. On the desk it said the fee included breakfast. I was told this wasnt the case for my room, but given no explanation.. I think the staff need to be given some customer service training. 3: very small, and scruffy lift.

All staff were very professional and held a sense of pride yet not snotty and welcoming and willing to please / assist. Suite was fantastic!! Bed, pillows, shower and products were wonderful. Fantastic service in the restaurant too with manager being extremely on the ball with orders and food delicious. I only work down the road but i will definitely be coming be returning to stay and also frequent the bar / restaurant with friends and colleagues.

I didn't get to spend enough time in the suite nor use the facilities. Next time though....
