Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome people might find it unhygienic that the separate WC did not have a hand basin. You had to go to the shower area, across the room, to wash your hands.
Modern but funky. Staff were courteous and helpful. Numerous little touches added to the experience. Great location, 5 min walk to train station and Salzberg old town. Numerous amenities in the immediate vicinity.

United KingdomWe asked for our room to be cleaned but had a message on our door to say that we had the do not disturb sign on (whereas the clean the room sign was on). Consequently, our room was cleaned only once over teh three days we stayed. This wasn't an issue though and probably more eco friendly. The complimentary minibar though was replenished each day.
This is a beautiful hotel, opposite the Mirabelle Palace and Gardens and only a 5-10 min walk to the Old Town and the train station. The bus to the airport stops almost outside. The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel; the rooms were beautiful (we were upgraded to a superior room) and though very central, it was very quiet with minimal road noise. The breakfast was exceptional with a vast array of choice (4 different types of honey for example) and the staff, particularly at breakfast, were very kind and pleasant. I would recommend 100%.

PortugalThe room price was high.
The locations excellent, just in from of the Maribel gardens and Palace, and very close (5 minutes walking) to the old town. The breakfast is excellent, as well as room. The staff were very helpful. Very close to a bus stop and the Panorama touristic buses (1 minute walking). Free beverages included in the minibar.

NetherlandsDespite that our experience was overall positive, there are some points for improvement: - on the beds there is a protection cover for the matras which is a kind of latex/plastic. It does not only feel awkward, but it does not breathe either, so you wake up at night all sweaty. That is not good for any hotel and especially not a 5* hotel - the check in procedure took very long with lots of paperwork to be completed and a long time for the receptionist to process everything before we got our keys. This should not be necessary in 2024. Very burocratic and not customer centric. - some of the staff were very friendly and helpful ( the bellboy, the lady receptionist at the morning shift of our arrival, the waiting staff of the breakfast ), but sone of the other staff seemed to be either new and unexperienced and only doing their duty ( the barman, the receptionist on the evening shift, the breakfast host). In this type of hotel and for this price all staff should be outstanding. - the rooms are quite small and probably the smallest I have ever seen in a 5* hotel. The cupboard is very small and there is no luggage rack, so you end up keeping your luggage in your suitcase on the floor next to your bed. Not really 5 star. - In general this is a very good 4* hotel but not a 5*. You need larger rooms and better trained and welcoming staff for that. And please change these latex matras covers.
The hotel is only 2 years open so everything is still in a spotless condition. The location, just a bit outside the old town is great. There has clearly been put quite some budget in the design and the level of detail of the hotel, however it is lacking a bit of warmth and personality. You can park your car in the courtyard. It comes at a price but we found it very convenient.

United StatesWe weren't crazy about the motion sensor lights. The lights didn't seem that bright but they woke me up when hubby went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Not a huge deal tho.
We liked everything about the Hyperion. The staff, one and all, was fabulous as was the breakfast and location. Our room faced the interior courtyard which was a car park but that didn't matter much as we didn't spend much time there.

GreeceI am so happy I booked at Hyperion for my weekend trip in Salzburg. The hotel is situated in a beautiful preserved historical building registered with UNESCO and located across from the gorgeous Mirabell Gardens. As an architect myself I highly appreciate that. The train station is a brief and pleasant 10-minute walk away, as is the Mozart residence and one half of the Inner City (the other half is across the Salzbach river, also at a walkable distance). I was lucky enough to have a beautiful corner room that overlooked Mirabel across the street. It was impeccably clean with a well-stocked mini bar of complimentary drinks and snacks and a large comfortable bed. The room was quite large and benefited from lots natural light. Bedding and towels were of high quality and nice bathrobes and slippers were provided. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast with many options for all dietary preferences and restrictions, including fresh Fruit and vegetables, and made to order egg dishes. The staff were all courteous and efficient. I had a wonderful stay and only wish I had a bit more time in beautiful Salzburg and this lovely new hotel. I hope I can come back soon and highly recommend Hyperion to anyone planning to visit Salzburg.
