How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

reduce noise which is pretty tricky to do! Maybe being higher up would have helped yet I loved the big balcony and just nipping up the stairs so easily to level 1
Noisy from the street works adjacent to the room on level 1, other than that it was ok. I like that they provide beach towels that was handy

The room decor is bland, the hotel feels old.
It’s an old hotel that for the price you would expect was more luxurious. The bathrooms have been upgraded but the rest of the room decor was quite sparse. Great location which is what you are clearly paying for.

The noisy nightclub across road - disturbed sleep till 4am. No soundproofing with our two rooms closest to nightclub

Small rooms but I think that’s standard for the location. Loud at night but you expect that for the location and they offer ear buds.
Right on the beach front. Close to walk everywhere. We don’t mind a longer walk either so took a stroke to Westfield on a rainy day. Nice shared courtyard. You don’t go to Bondi to stay in the hotel so it’s fine for what you need. Try Speedos Cafe for breakfast :)

My pillow was not comfortable at all - perhaps a look into latex pillows that retain shape might be suitable moving forward. The television did not turn on; the remote did not appear to be malfunctioning but the screen did not respond and there were no controls on the unit itself. Not a big issue but something to note nonetheless.
Food was terrific with a restaurant open later for travelling workers with odd hours. Although ear plugs were supplied, these were not needed as it was always quiet and private.

Didn't like that it was above a pub and also on the corner where lots of people gathered after the pubs and bars closed, so was a little bit noisy.
Great location right opposite the beach and near lots of restaurant which made it easy to get dinner. Room was spacious and nice sized balcony.

There was a door and a window which opened out onto a patio, which was great, but I didn't feel safe leaving the window open at night. Slept with the air conditioner on at night. Not so great.
Quick check in, friendly receptionist and staff. Great bar and restaurant downstairs, so close to the beach, shops, coastal walks, clean bedroom, comfortable beds and an updated/modern bathroom, with underfloor heating.

The location has been tastefully renovated to a modern standard but if you were obsessed with the exterior of the building you might find it a bit dated.
The location was why we booked and it didn't disappoint. The check-in was very friendly and flexible to meet our situation, and our wifi signal was strong so I could work without an issue. Shower pressure was next level awesome and the on-site bar and restaurant is great.

The only thing we didn't like was a 5:30 am alarm and evacuation notice. Luckily it was a false alarm.
The location was great. Right across the street from Bondi Beach. Although it is an old hotel the rooms are all renovated and very modern. Our room was a nice size and the bathroom was great. There is a really good restaurant/bar and even a bottle shop.

Was not allowed to leave small suitcase in storage for a couple of hours . Staff not helpfull Room tariff $330 per night to high.
