Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaParking $20 per day. The free parking on offer was too far away from our room to carry everything. Previously before the upgrades parking was free for the mecure. For $500 for two nights parking should be included or at least significantly reduced. Such a rip off when rooms annd buildings are so run down

AustraliaThe new pool area was closed for maintenance but we were not notified prior to booking . There was a fan running in the room at maximum speed , the switch had been covered by a bed board leaving it not possible to turn off . The pictures of the room showed multiple pillows on the beds and nice bed decor but the room only had one pillow on each bed . The pool that was open had a lot of leaves in it . Water service was noisy when the room above showered . Shower was tired and overall room tired . Parking was not free for in the compound

AustraliaI paid $587 for a room for one night in the pool villa for my partners birthday.. the room came without a washing machine and dryer ? Having to walk back and forth to the laundry room and pay $5 per load of washing after spending so much on a room? I understand it’s a resort but to me seems an unfair price and takes away from full relaxation. The wifi was unable to connect to the TV so we were unable to watch movies or connect gaming console. When reception was called about this, he did not have a solution. In fact he said there was no option for the Wifi to connect to the TV and apologised? No room service for meals, had to go and collect our dinner. Room phone was disconnected the whole duration of our stay so had to call through to reception and order dinner on personal phones. Only one roll of toilet paper, still did not receive more toilet roll despite calling twice. Buffet breakfast was compensated only after i asked to be compensated after all the issues (above) were raised. The receptionist had spoken to the manager who then confirmed a free breakfast for the inconveniences. My Partner and I were then questioned multiple times about our Free breakfast as there were no notes from receptionist. This was quite embarrassing as it may have seemed like I was lying just to get a free meal. It’s such a shame, really. We were really looking forward to our stay.
The pool villa is a nice room.

AustraliaThe lagoon pool was closed for tree treatment. Not sure what this means. The other pool was full of children for a birthday party each day.
The rooms were clean and neat.

AustraliaMain reason was mainly the huge pool but unfortunately it was close. There was no advise beforehand that it's been close for 3 weeks. Waited 2 hours for us to get our room. Which was really frustrating and having kids being impatient for 2 hours was a bad experience.
The breakfast buffet was great. Had dinner with the family at cossies and it was expectacular.

AustraliaMecure rooms are getting old and probably need a facelift. Bathrooms are tired. For those wanting to see the sites this hotel is located a fair distance from Darwin township so you will need a car or transport of some sort. No lifts (only stairs) so if you struggle with you case or have any injuries etc request a ground floor room. Not unexpectedly, but the hallways, stairs etc can be a little noisy throughout the night because people are arriving/departing for flights etc.
Good check-in process. Staff were friendly and location was great as it very close to airport. The Mecure and Novotel operate through the same reception now so you have access to a central pool (conveniently located between the two hotels) which was fantastic (very new). It is a massive pool and had spaces for adults, kids, a splash zone - it really was spectacular. The Mecure also has a lagoon style pool which was nearly empty (perhaps because it is the wet season so low occupancy) but it is a lovely area to hang out at too. The Mecure restaurant was good. Beds were comfy. A good place to stay if you are flying in/out of Darwin with a courtesy bus to/from the airport.
