The shower tiles needed a good clean. Other than that it was a good clean room

The location was excellent. Markets Sunday morning was great to get last minute gifts. The room was large with 2 double beds. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

No on-site parking!! Could not park on street because of markets there and risk of theft. Parking around the block in underground secure parking station ($15 night) so had to haul all the bags etc there - getting to garage not all undercover so would be hell if it was raining!! Inroom fridge was tiny with no freezer (to refresh our esky blocks).

Not enough cups in room, no plate, knife ete Not enough glasses When getting picked up couldn't offer guest cuppa and when they arrived bringing a slice to share, no plates or knife's to cut it up. Same with glasses. We couldn't bring a piece of fruit home and share as nothing to use.

Parking is quite limited, maybe there could be association with the Wilson operated car park.

Our room on the 5th floor overlooked Ross River and was clean, comfortable and generally quiet. Check-in staff were friendly and approachable and were really helpful when we wanted to leave our main suitcases for a couple of days while we took the train to Mt Isa and back. The breakfast offering was good and varied. The hotel is close to many restaurants, bars and shops.

The stay we had the restaurant and bar area very under staffed (not staffs fault) and we had a very long wait for our tea especially with children

No microwave. Bed skirt had a big dirty spill of something down it. Mould in bathroom could be addressed (ceiling)

Amazing location to everything I wanted to access. I walked there from the ferry terminal after spending time on Magnetic Island. I would stay here again. You get what you pay for. A great standard room, priced well.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. There were stains on the couch, tired furnishings , Sound proofing is virtuall non existent .Sleep was constantly interrupted by people coughing, talking etc from next door. We expected a higher quality for the price paid.

Unfortunately, the renovations going on outside the building and the pool being closed (again). The pool has been closed on the last several visits we made. The renovations were not intrusive as they needed to be carried out. Personally, I think we should have been advised that Renovations were being performed and the pool was closed (again) and we should have received a reduced Rate.

We didn't have breakfast as we had a 1 Bedroom apartment and made our own. The location is great as it is close to all the facilities we wanted. We have stayed there several times over the years and like the location the most.

Breakfast was good but not great, service in the area was very average and value for money probably not that great. coffee was good though. restaurant menu for dinner was varied and reasonably priced, but the actual quality of the food was lacking. food was not hot when received at the table which was disappointing. 3 night stay only ate once for dinner and once for breakfast.

We had a pair of socks left in our room when we checked in. And the balcony was locked so we couldn’t step outside, but we understood the reason why as work had been getting done to the outside of Hotel Grand Chancellor.

Pillows were comfortable. The room we were in was very nice and the view was very beautiful.

The bathrooms are very mouldy and so was the doona insert which only really bothered me due to be allergic to the type of mould in the bathroom. Likely due to the lack of ventilation, which is out of the property’s hands.

Balcony covered in dirt and dust from renovations so not useable for fresh air. Only poached eggs available. Long wait for scrambled or fried eggs. Limited parking options for bigger vehicles.
