Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe carpet could have done with a vacuum and the exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a 747 on take off. I am sure they will fix that.
It's a beautiful hotel and we have been past it 2 or 3 times every going to Bathurst but never stayed. Stopped once for a coffee and was intrigued by its history. Glad we finally stayed but check in staff don't make you feel warm and fuzzy. Having to drag your bag up 3 lots of stairs was a bit ordinary. Ok for me but I am sure some people would struggle with that. It reminded me of the titanic segregated by class. Quite an experience but one we have wanted to do.

AustraliaThe roadworks made it awkward to get in and out and it was difficult to find the reception. Bedside lamps need to be brighter for reading
The hotel decor was stunning, the staff friendly and helpful, the amenities superb and the valley views magnificent. The breakfast was delicious too. We loved the history tour with the very knowledgeable James.

AustraliaThe parking can be a little stressful in that it barely has enough spaces.
It is what it is. A glimpse of the past with a wrapping of technology and modern lifestyle.

AustraliaAccess to the rooms is very poor with a long walk, not suitable for elderly. Room was tiny, not enough room to put bags. Restaurant is overpriced for the quality.

AustraliaRoad works outside are annoying at the moment.
The rooms are stylish and the bed is comfortable. The views of Megalong Valley are priceless and the atmosphere is amazing. All this followed by an excellent breakfast in the morning.

AustraliaNo room service Restaurant and food service closes at 8/8:30pm Valley View Rooms very small for the amount you paid. Exterior of the Hotel looks tired however inside was great. I met a couple who spent their 40 Wedding Anniversary there and the specifically asked for a View room with Breakfast included but were told in checking in they didn’t have there room. Staff didn’t help them or upgrade them. Also met another couple with a similar issue.
The View of the Mountains were amazing. The Staff were very friendly and helpful but some were not up to what happens within the Hotel.

AustraliaThe bathroom was a bit too dated however. Also odd service in the dining room with weird rules that had me thinking of Fawlty Towers. The restaurant staff were too young for that reference which made it all seem more ridiculous. Good food though if a bit try hard and pretentious.
It’s an old favorite. I’ve been staying there for over 50 years so the memories are so strong. I think the decor is mostly still in keeping with the old style which is lovely

AustraliaThe room was small. Had a water pressure problem that was quickly fixed. Bed was good but tad soft for me, which is a personal preference.
Interiors were lavish. Touch of the majestic about everything. Dinner was very nouvelle cuisine and therefore expensive. Good cocktails. The late bar was served very well. Good bed with lots of pillows. I counted 12. Bathroom was great. Classic heritage. Valley view was spectacular. Good breakfast. Love a good buffet breakfast.

AustraliaQuite rundown building. Bar doubled as Reception in Belgravia building. ( customers checking in and others trying to order drinks but being sent to another building) Much more suited for reception in Casino building.
Beautiful scenery/outlook from bedroom and 'The Wintergarden Restaurant' The dining experience was exceptional.

AustraliaBed was way too soft. It felt like it needs to be updated. Room was tiny. 2 of us with 2 suitcases had barely any room. Very little room to walk around bed. Not a comfortable room to relax in after being out all day. No options to sit apart from bed or a hard desk chair. Very disappointed considering the premium price charged. Would not stay again.
