Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaYou don't really feel the hospitality from the staff coming in or going out, didn't feel that they are genuinely happy to have you there. For a hotel room that has low light the bathrooms are dark. Room was small and was ok for a night.
Location and convenience. Our son loved watching the planes take off and land from the window so that was good fun. Great for a short stay.

New ZealandEven through the online check in is great you must be careful that you don't get double charged like we were, however we did get this rectify after we got home so be careful. The lack of personal touch has gone. Being the easter holiday weekend the roof top bar was closed which was disappointing.
The proximity to the international terminal is an easy walk and very convenient. The online check in and check out is a good system if you like that type of system.

New ZealandBeing charged 15% extra at the bar on Easter Sunday which is “not” a public holiday. Staff do not get paid more on Easter Sunday!!! Took 25 minutes to get another bottle of wine from the minibar. That was after a visit to reception to request it as they didn’t pick up the phone. T The restaurant was closed. Would have been nice to have been advised previously.
Location was perfect. We certainly didn’t need to stress about getting to international airport in time! Room was lovely, large and well laid out especially the huge seperate shower that for once wasn’t over the bath!

AustraliaRoom service was too slow. We had to ring twice and we waited 1 1/2 hours before it arrived. Meal was so-so. food temperature was just warm. The taxi hated us as it was too close to the airport. He wanted us to get out. As it was, he took us to the wrong Rydges and then all around the airport to get to the right one. It cost over $50.00 for the ride and $20.00 tip for the inconvenience.

CanadaMessaging was very strange. When I arrived to check in and gave my name, I was told I didn’t have a reservation. Then I showed the email and no problem; there it is. I check in, get to my room, turn on the tv and there is a message that I haven’t checked in. I stay overnight, check out in the morning, and that evening — 16 hours after I check out— I get a message saying they are ready for me to check in. I have stayed in many hotels but have never experienced so many repeated mistakes like this.
Location— next to the airport—is why I chose it. Was satisfied with the facilities.

United KingdomMessaged property twice before arrival requesting rooms next to each other as one of our party visually impaired aged 76. On arrival all rooms on different floors. Questioned this on check on but no rooms available next to each other. One of the rooms still not ready despite our 11.30pm arrival...!! When it was ready had obviously been done in a hurry as toe nail clippings on carpet, lipstick on pillow and a dirty toilet. Then at 6am the following morning the guest with visual impairment was told had to leave room due to power failure. Absolute nightmare for her..
