Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongNothing really.
Clean bedding with refurbished bathroom. 10 minutes from Hunter valley with nearby supermarket and dinning. Self service breakfast was basic but good enough. We though it was an economical choice for 1-2 nights stay for our hunter valley trip.

Australia'Breakfast included' needs some clarification on the booking site. It's 'help yourself' on the kitchen (not complaining about the choices), so being prepared to a hostel style 'breakfast' is a must. Not a negative per se, just a bit unexpected.
Surprisingly quirky hotel (but was expecting that judging by the photos), like stepping into the past. Decor is eclectic, antique, lots of small things to explore, very warm ambient.

AustraliaThe stairs from the carpark to the rooms can be daunting in the rain.
I love the general vibe, the decor is eclectic and fun. The bed was very comfy, as were the pillows. And the room was spotlessly clean. Check-in was quick and easy with a pleasant staff member. Great location, walking distance to the shopping centre and restaurants.

AustraliaI would only be a fuss bucket if I suggested providing some yoghurt as an option for breakfast, as the options for breakfast were very adequate - cereal, muesli, oats, fruit, toast, eggs, jams and juice.
We have stayed at Vine Valley Inn a number of times when visiting the Hunter Valley. It's quirky, clean and in a great location. The kitchen and breakfast facilities are very convenient. We got the king room for the same price as the queen and the bed was very comfortable.

AustraliaThe room was mostly clean but when I went to move the queen bed up against the single to stop my toddler falling out of it, there was rubbish, an empty bottle & thick dust. The ceiling fan was also covered in thick dust.
The decor was lovely & the kitchen amazing! The room size was great & bathroom perfect. Amenities were great too.

AustraliaContinental breakfast included which we both didn’t partake in…would have been nicer to see individual portions not shared jars of spreads and margarine.

AustraliaA little noisy from traffic. Be aware that there are lots of steps for those who may struggle with luggage etc.
Good size room, good ensuite with very good shower, and a great king-size bed. Breakfast provided included eggs and facilities to cook in the communal kitchen. Easy walking distance to pubs and various restaurants.

AustraliaThere was not a soul in sight when we arrived and we had to call someone on a mobile when checking in, who sent (the cleaner?) to check us in. And they charged me more than what I booked online for. I liked the retro furniture concept which is why I gave this Inn a try, but there was a bit too much of it so it felt like an op shop. And some of it was so old it should be binned. The carpet needs replacing too in my opinion, it would make it feel much nicer and cleaner. The room was quite clean except the fan vent in the bathroom was caked with dust. The old couches in the room may have been clean but how can you tell when they look so old? I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on them for that reason. Also the room had a definite smell which I didn’t like and it was a tad noisy at night with the traffic. It also isn’t friendly for anyone with mobility issues who can’t walk up 2 flights of stairs.
The room was a great size, the bathroom was modern, there was a kitchen if we wanted to use it for breakfast, reheating, etc. It was good value for money.
