Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing!
A wonderful self contained apartment which was quiet and close to a local food store and restaurant. Traveling into Bruges was very easy either on foot, by bus or on a bike available at the accommodation. Would highly recommend. The host was welcoming and helpful. We would definitely book again if in the area.

AustraliaWe are on an extended Europe trip (away for a year) and this has been the nicest, best value place we've stayed at so far. Lovely hosts who are there when you need them, a generous breakfast basket and a great location that's a pleasant bike ride away from the old town of Bruges. Highly recommend staying here.

United KingdomLovely comfortable accommodation. Lovely and warm with all bits and pieces you could need. The breakfast basket was exceptional along with the fresh bread everyday. The use of the bikes was great as you wouldn't have walked to the centre. Unless your very active. Jos was very helpful and informative. Can't really say any more other than it was great.

AustraliaWhat a wonderful apartment that exceeded our expectations. Tabitha met us at the apartment and she was welcoming, friendly and extremely well organised. The detailed book was very helpful. The breakfast basket that she gave us was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Every morning, she or Jos delivered fresh bread as well. On one of the mornings, we even got croissants - which was very nice. There was definitely enough to eat and Tabitha even stated if we ran out of anything, that she would provide us with extra. But we didn’t need anything extra. Tabitha and Jos have thought of everything for this apartment. It was so well appointed and it was so nice. The photos that we took do not do it justice. It is a lot nicer. They have excellent taste - they have clearly tried to make it homely and welcoming. It was so nice to spend 3 nights here. As we were there over new year, the apartment was decorated for Christmas. It even had a small Christmas tree - we simply turned on the lights at night. The heating was excellent and the bed was comfortable. Plus the whole apartment was spotless. We can not recommend this apartment more highly. It was also very nice that the bedroom was on the second floor. One person can have a sleep in or go to bed early, while the other person reads a book or watches TV. The grocery store - quite a large one is walking distance. And the bus stop to town is just down the street. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Tabitha and Jos for creating such a lovely home away from home.

GermanyThe host was very helpful and friendly. The area is nice and quiet. Breakfast was brought in a basket, with a variety of tasty things, and bread - fresh each morning at the door. The house itself is cozy, as it is on the fotos.

Fresh bread rolls delivered daily was lovely. Plenty of everything to make a nice breakfast. Location was what we liked most. Property was in a nice quiet area, but within easy reach of the city. Jos was great! He was very helpful, pleasant and informative. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Netflix was a bonus. 😀

United KingdomThe distance from the city centre and lack of public transport on a Sunday. We could, and should, have taken bicycles instead of walking into Bruges on the Sunday! There were few restaurants and bars in the immediate area so we had to walk quite a distance to find somewhere to eat on our first night, but chose to buy food and cook for ourselves on the second.
The accommodation allocated to us was self contained and well equipped. Breakfast was delivered in a basket on the first afternoon of our stay and it was plentiful. The owner spent some time talking with us about the area and gave us great help with planning our route out of the city and onwards. Overall the accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed provided.

GermanyCold tiles on the floor. Slightly problematic if you have a small child that rolls all over it.
Decent breakfast. The owner of the place delivers basic groceries, like eggs, cookies, bread, butter and jam, juice, etc., so it's not bad. You can mix something up.

United KingdomIf we had to say anything then it would have been helpful to know by which means the hosts would like payment so we could have organised this before leaving the UK. A small freezer compartment in the fridge would have been handy. Apart from this could not fault.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location was good as only a short bike ride into the centre of Bruges. The breakfast provided was exceptional and plentiful with fresh bread each day. Accomodation was clean, warm, quiet spacious and well thought out with parking too, there was even a Christmas tree with lights which was a lovely touch having stayed in December. There was outside space to store our bikes safely and a seating area outside which would be great in the summer months; a little cold in December to make use of this space!! We would definitely stay here again without a doubt; really really nice, a great find!
