Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe staff wasn't very friendly, everything -and I mean EVERYTHING- was slanted. If you'd put down a marble it would've raced across the bedroom. We had a three person bedroom which was had a shower, but there was no door to the bathroom bit, which made it not very usable to use when you're with friends. The shared toilet had little flush power, so toilet paper would usually be left behind inside the pot. The beds were very soft but you could very much feel the springs from the inside. For a single night it was an okay stay, not great, but could've been a lot worse.
Our room was located on the corner of two big streets, but even with the windows open it wasn't as loud as we read it would be. The location is the reason we chose this hotel, and it's really the only reason I'd go here again. However, we did find it to be decently clean.

United StatesNo staff. It is a restaurant that also rents rooms. No reception. If you get there past 9:30pm for what ever reason, you probably won't get it. So what, sleep on the street???? We barely got in, due train issues. Unable to contact via phone, text, or email.

Czech RepublicThe building and the street are quite noisy and the beds were not very good. Funny placement of the shower in the bedroom and the shared toilet is ok if you have some sense of humour.
Good location, room was spacious and clean. Fair price. For one maximum two nights it is ok, for longer stay I would definitely pick something else.

BulgariaAt first I was a little shocked by the interior of the stairs and the corridor to the rooms, as well as the fact that the room had a sink but no air conditioning, but in the end it didn’t turn out to be such an inconvenience. And the building is old, which explains many of the shortcomings. Breakfast was not good and varied but the pleasant atmosphere and great service compensate to some extent this inconvenience.
Great location - close enough to the center and all the sights, as well as to the train station, while the hotel is located on a very nice and spacious square! Pleasant and very polite staff, good hygiene, great service when serving breakfast. I was rather satisfied with my stay there.

BelgiumThe staff was quite rude in their answering of a question, and then in the morning overly friendly and a bit pushy. The building and rooms could use an upgrade to say the least. There was a coat hanger in the room, I wanted to hang my towel on it, it just immediately fell off the wall as it was not attached at all. Very shoddy and delapidated rooms that need some love. The carpet in the room I was weary to walk on with bare feet as it looked very disgusting and had a lot of stains on it. The toilet and shower rooms which were separate were okay. No screens in the windows to air out the rooms a little bit, and let them cool down with summer temperatures.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Many towels available. Honestly don't have much else good to say. The location is so dependent as yes it is close to everything, but that also means it gets very noisy and loud and busy at night, which is often the case.

United KingdomThe whole experience was under par. The stairs were dirty with bags of laundry in the waybon the first floor. The carpets throughout were threadbare. It is dark and dingy. The room was stark and smelled damp the curtains were thin. The beds were ok. The pillows were yellow without the cases. There is no where to hang clothes. My bedside table had a lamp but no plug. No plugs near near the second bed. The shower was old and either boiling hot or lukewarm. The room was nosiy and the floorboards uneven and loose in places. No tea or coffee facilities nor any water. The sink dripped and the communal toilets were not overally clean. All in all a terrible experience thank goodness it was one night. This place is very over priced and in dire need of upgrading. There is also no privacy from the internal shower if sharing.

SpainThe bed was uncomfortable, you could hear everything from the hall. I had a very uncomfortable situation with the receptionist Omaar who tried to ask my number to go out with me at night. It was unnecessary and scary for me who does solo travel. For one night the place was ok but wouldn’t repeat nor recommend
