Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

David, our host, was very friendly and helpful...very welcoming, as was all the staff. Breakfast was delicious: 3 courses and healthy and plentiful, served in David's art studio so the setting was fantastic. Our room overlooked the garden and terrace AND the Bridge of Love and the beautiful cathedral. LOVED our stay and will most definitely be back!!! Location was just perfect - convenient to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. The room was large, bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a huge shower! 5 stars!!

United StatesI loved everything! I did not want to leave!
The property was excellent. It is a Medieval building that the owner uses for guests and as his atelier. He is an artist par excellence! The building retains all Medieval charms while incorporating modern conveniences. It is located on a canal with a famous bridge and is overlooked by an historic church. Magnificent! Breakfast was deluxe! The presentation was beautiful and the food superb - 3 courses….all served in his atelier. It will Wow you! His assistant is charming and friendly and very helpful. A wonder stay!

United KingdomThere is nothing here not to like. My only criticism if I had to make one was the pressure from the shower was not good but I suppose that’s what happens if you’re staying in the loft area.
A beautifully restored historic property positioned fairly close to the main square within easy walking distance from the station and sat next to the canal with the lovers bridge and church the other side . The owner made us feel very welcomed and looked after us every morning with a hand made delicious 4 course breakfast .

United StatesThe location, room, view, breakfast, and staff were all WONDERFUL. My bed was comfortable and large, and the flying buttresses of the church were framed perfectly in my medieval glass paned windows, I never wanted to leave! But the town of Brugge is picture perfect, and the guest house was the ideal place to use as home base for exploration and relaxation.

United StatesIf you are not able to navigate stairs - there are 1-2 floors to reach your room on a narrow staircase. We had no problem and David was very helpful with bags but just in case you cannot do stairs!
Our jaws dropped upon walking into Guest House Nuit Blanche - this was the coolest place that we have ever stayed! David and his team were so kind and helpful. David sat down with us when we arrived and showed us the lay of the land as well as giving recommendations. The breakfast they made each morning was delicious. The location is perfect, you can walk to absolutely everything. We had a car and it was very easy to find parking that felt safe and relatively close (you can also drive pretty close, drop off bags and then park your car in a garage nearby). The room was incredible and a special element was a projector that pulled down so that we could watch DVDs at night. We loved our stay and would absolutely recommend this experience.

United StatesThis was our first time to Brugge and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. David's Nuit Blanche is beautiful and historical, and was the perfect place to come back to after exploring the city. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the main square, which to us was perfect because we appreciated the quiet after a long day exploring. The beds were very comfortable, and the 3-course breakfast every morning was delicious and beautifully prepared. David was the kindest host, not to mention a very talented painter. He sat down with us and gave us a local's plan for seeing his beautiful city and was always available via WhatsApp to answer any questions. We honestly wish we had more time here, but will certainly be back to Nuit Blanche, and will tell all of our family and friends traveling to Brugge that this is the place to stay!

What a wonderful experience! This guest house is centrally located - and we could see one of the most photographed bridges in Bruges outside our window. The bedroom was huge plus there was separate entry hall, bath, and large closet. The breakfasts were also beautiful and delicious.

AustraliaWe were welcomed by David who gave us great advice and guidance on places to see and have dinner. The historic beauty of the accomodation can't be understated- it was just gorgeous. It was warm and comfortable, very spacious with adjoining beautiful bathroom. Central location for taking to Brugge by foot with a gorgeous view. The accomodation was the highlight of our trip to Brugge.

United KingdomThe only potential negatives I can think of which might bother some travellers (but not us) - historical property so narrow stairs up to rooms. Also owner is an artist- which adds another level of character and the art is very impressive (my husband would have purchased some if I had let him). But if staying with small kids possibly they might find some of the artwork either a little scary or inappropriate- something to be mindful of if your child is sensitive to that kind of thing.
Fabulous- wonderful historic property. Fantastic and unique experience and the owner is lovely. Also been cleverly updated to have modern conveniences and comfort without losing any historical feel. We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay again.

Amazing location in the heart of the city. So much character. Our host David was very hospitable, full of knowledge and happy to help. We arrived for Christmas and our youngest daughter wanted a Christmas Tree. We asked David where to get one at breakfast and he said he would sort it. By the time we finished breakfast we had a beautiful Christmas tree in our room! By far our best on our 5 week trip around Europe. Breakfast was home made and delicious. It was lovely inclusion. We will definately return again
