Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWhile the jacuzzi bathtub was huge (we didn't use it), the shower is a tiny corner unit with a poor shower head. We were on the main floor, so you could hear the guests walking around on the floor above. The lovely owner, Judy, has been there for 39 years, and I found a few things were a little tired or not in proper working order. However, it didn't impact our stay.
It's a very pretty place with an eclectic mix of antiques. Nice views, and the old church across the street was interesting to browse. The breakfast choices were appreciated - but no PEI potato home fries! I liked the larger family-style breakfast tables and outdoor spaces to meet other travellers. We were not in the main building, which was no problem. Lots of windows in the large room (#5) with blackout curtains, lots of seating, and a dining room table. Played a game of chess in the common area, and discovered a small work-out room on our last morning.

United StatesHowever, my one complaint is that the inn offered only bacon with the eggs or French Toast. It would be nice if the inn offered a choice of 3 meats, such as bacon, sausage, or ham.
The breakfasts are delicious! We enjoyed having a choice of French Toast or eggs cooked whichever way we want.

United StatesThe full size bed was a little small for me and my wife, but understandable for the size of the room. It was nice to have the extra single bed to use later in the night.
A beautiful property in an amazing location with views of the water. The owner was wonderful and very helpful. The breakfasts were amazing! It was nice to have a fridge and coffee maker in the room.

I always looked forward to the breakfast in the morning. Lots of choice. Served just as I liked it. Andrea and Judy were great hosts. Felt like we were family rather than guests. Judy is a walking encyclopedia of the Islander. And Andrea has a great sense of humour.

CanadaThere were no screens on the windows so we were forced to use to air conditioning on cool evenings when fresh air would have been so good.
Beautiful big room with four windows and a veranda. Loved the garden and the bird feeder. The location is wonderful. Quiet with lovely walks nearby. Very good breakfast. So nice to chat with the other guests.

CanadaHaving some extra bedding choices would be nice as the pillows were a bit flat for me and the blankets too hot. Windows were a bit finicky to keep open but then it is a beautiful old house.
Breakfast was excellent and so were our hosts. Judy was a delight and she knew so much history of the island. Andrea was lovely and gave us a very warm welcome. Public rooms were full of antiques and nicely decorated but the art on the walls was absolutely captivating!

CanadaJudy and Andrea and Trish are wonderful ladies. They all treat you there like part of their family. Each morning Andrea would preparing our fresh and delicious breakfasts and have a little chit chat with us. The room we had was on the 3rd floor #4 and it was in Victorian style of PEI. It was actually two rooms - one with larger bed and the other room with a single and a cozy sofa to watch TV. Great view from the small under the attic windows. AC available in the room. If anyone travels with kids they also had Netflix option. Inn was located in the north of the PEI, town of Rustico - very close to Anne of Green Gables as well as many other interesting spots you'll be sure to visit. We are definitely coming back there in the future and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you MacDonald family for welcoming my wife and I in your beautiful home.

CanadaWe were there during an unusually hot period. The air conditioning unit in our room did not work very well. This would likely not be an issue the vast majority of the time. There are lovely breezes that usually come through the windows. We let Judy know and she was already aware of the issue and working on a solution.
The food and the atmosphere at breakfast was excellent. You got to meet the other guests and hear about their experience of the island. It was the perfect base from which to explore PEI. Judy had wonderful suggestions. Everything we wanted to see was a reasonable driving distance from the inn. Our room was spacious, private and very quiet.
