I don’t dislike anything about the property….the owner is super nice and it’s always very clean and quiet. One suggestion is possibly investing in some new mattresses for the beds…not super horrible but some of the bed have huge lumps and fall into the center or almost fall out of the bed…. Love this motel and highly recommend it to everyone….these are just some suggestions as it very convenient to where I need to be and the service is great…. Also if the CHECK IN times are going to be changed can you please update with Bookings or website….unfortunately by the time I get to Sussex it’s usually after 8pm. People keep telling me the check in time is changed to 8pm….however I have had no problems getting checked after 8pm…

The building is dated and lacks some convenient features such as plugs beside the bed etc. It was cold and although we turned on the heat, the room didn’t get very warm. The sink in our en suite was very slow to drain

The room wasn't ready at 4pm when we arrived, we were sent off to go shopping while they quickly made it ready.

Good location and sensational room compared to our previous 3 days in a dump that cost more than this one. Very relaxing 3 nights we had here, very comfortable beds too.

The dishes were difficult to reach in a high cupboard. If I were any shorter, I wouldn't have been able to reach them.

The deadbolt on the door was broken, would have felt more secure with that. Very old furniture and beds covered with slip covers but could see how old and torn they were. A more thorough cleaning is needed on the drawers, cupboards, walls, etc.

Cleaning staff checked us in which is fine. However, there was a guy sitting in their car as security for the whole evening, night & morning which we thought odd. It only made us think that at one time this motel probably had some clients experiencing difficulties, e.g. drug addiction, to put it politely. No problem with this however the car/guy was directly facing our room - my partner smokes - so it felt like we were being watched which we did not appreciate. The person could have parked differently. Bed too soft for our liking. Also - why do they put other guests right beside each other - as the place is an older establishment, noise between rooms could be an issue, as well as noise from outside due to other guests. The outside of the doors needs new paint (someone painted the metal and so now it is peeling and thus doesn't look good).

Budget priced motel which is what we like, avoiding chains if at all possible, supporting local families. It has a comfortable bath with sufficient hot water. Had a very cute kitchenette area just lacking some supplies, with microwave & fridge. No carpets in room which for us is great if you have allergies to dust. Close to be able to walk to the 'downtown' - it is a small community and enough options for those of us who want some decent food although most were closed on Monday evening when we were there (which we knew in advance). Clearly there was some renos done. Overall good value for the $ when it is almost impossible to find a decent place for less than $100.

Deadbolts on doors are disabled by proprietor. Curtains have small decorative holes that lets in street lights so not complete privacy. No sugar for coffee.
