How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The breakfasts were less than spectacular. The waffle machine wasn't working and no option of topping even if it were. Only white bread, nothing at all in fridge, hot items were barely even warm and tables were all left unwiped. I know it's not a great job but a good breakfast will keep guests happy and coming back.
Our room was nice and clean and we absolutely loved the in room coffees. Wish we could find some for home use.

The night worker was rude and mean didn't like that we came in late from gambling and seemed like she didn't want us out of our room.

It would've been nice if the hotel had a restaurant as there are not a lot of food options in walking distance

-no one of the staff spoke english. Only with guests -i forgot my adapter in this hotel. But they said..oh no we dont have it. Sad

The huttub needs to be actually cleaned, not just add more and more chlorine. This can become a serious health issue, the breakfast could be better.

Some furniture starting to look a bit scuffed- some minor touch ups would make a big difference!
Breakfast was good variety. The pool area looked great. All areas of building smelled clean and fresh. Beds comfortable.

When checking in it was almost like we needed to prompt them in order to get them to either answer question or give us information. We told him that we needed a shuttle ride. They explained something that we couldn’t understand about the shuttle, but said there would be a taxi with a travel voucher, but telephone in the morning they said. Called in the morning said we needed it for about 45 minutes later as soon as I walked down and they were calling for the cab and I reminded her I didn’t need it until quarter after seven OK and she walked away so we mentioned that they’re supposed to be a voucher so she got the voucher but apparently she incorrectly filled it out and the driver had to leave us in the cab and go back to have it done properly. Also, there’s a sign that says VLT and lounge out front, but there really isn’t a lounge which we thought we could stop and have a glass of wine but there was a lot of VLTs and I guess you could sit in there, but not what we expected. Supplied breakfast was somewhat sad. You can tell not much effort was put into it.
Convenient to the airport. The room was fairly clean, but we did find things left behind and some items that was showing that there was not a complete clean of the room as such some discarded items on the floor and elsewhere. Such as plastic off of a package.

Homeless people coming in to eat breakfast while I was eating.
The blonde for who checked me in was great. Let me get a room close to my moms room who was also staying

Would liked to have had a drink but there was no lounge. Not sure if it was because of the time of year. Near Christmas. Poor me.
The breakfast was good. Had a variety of items to choose from. Was able to have something nice before leaving the hotel.
