I was disappointed with the room I got because it had a view but was quite old. The carpet was peeling off, and the bathroom was in bad condition. I understand that old doesn't necessarily mean ugly, but the room wasn't well maintained. Additionally, there was a strange modern gazebo outside the main restaurant. Although it's probably meant for summer, it clashed with the overall view and ambiance of the place. Despite these issues, I must admit that the surrounding area and the exterior of the building were beautiful.

I love that it has many amenities. However, I think that when we went there, there weren’t many activities for adults. Nevertheless, the mountain biking, curling pool, spa, and sitting in front of the big fireplace with a drink to relax were great.

It would have been nice to have more servers coming around as we were seating near the fireplaces and ask if we needed anything from the bar. Also they were very slow to fill the fireplace back up which is an important part of the atmosphere.

Beautiful interior. Stunning center fireplace with lots of cozy seating around the fireplaces.

I reserved a room with my 13 years old son and i was free of charge for him. But the room was very small and there was only one bed and it was not possible to add extra bed so i had to upgrade my room with extra money. It should be warn during the reservation . Restaurant was so expensive we paid more than stay for dinner.

It was an egzotik place to stay, comfortable and nice ambiance

I had one meal in the restaurant that I didn't really enjoy so ate in local restaurants. A charge on top of your room bill for pool parking etc of $38 is added to your bill per day. Also 15% tax on top of your whole bill is added . Canadians might expect this !

Location by the river and close to Parc Omega. The structure itself built in the great depression is built from redwoods. The central focus is around 6 central fireplaces where there are plenty of sofas to relax and have a coffee or drinks on the lower floor. The bedroom and bed were comfortable. Bathroom functional but dated. I enjoyed the curling and history tour provided by the hotel.

It was expensive; not great value for the money. We were charged a $30 resort facility fee and were unable to use the facilities. Our trip overlapped with the Canadian cross country marathon. Noisy; pool was crowded; lots of families with small children.

Delicious dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

Our room was off the hallway leading to the spa/pool so had a lot of traffic and often noisy. The room could have been cleaner - there was very visible dust on the ceiling wood beams in the room.

Lovely historic ambience, wonderful log fires constantly going in the central atrium (in winter, of course)

Great stay in an interesting historical building

Due to the fact that the building has been constructed in the 1930's, we heard very much the steps of the people in the room upstairs. Many clients walking in the corridor along the room were talking very loud, so you could think they were actually in the room. The price of our stay was 500 $ per day for 2 people (room + breakfast + dinner buffet). Plan your budget well.

Very big room with good wifi connection. Free parking if you do self-parking. Good breakfast and dinner buffets, although quite pricey, as always in Quebec. The lobby is really impressive with its 6 fireplaces and huge volume. Interesting wood architecture with a roof culminating at 25 meters. The hotel is ideally located along the Outaouais river, in a very large parc with old trees. Charming, even in the winter months. The Omega Park with its dozens of wild animals walking free around the cars is just 5 minutes away from the hotel.

The room was a big disappointment :( There was a sour, almost urine-like smell that did not go away, and it was very difficult to regulate the temperature - freezing when we arrived, and when air conditioning on, even the lowest fan setting results in cold air blasting very close to the bed. I don't think we were ever really comfortable in the room, to the extent that we don't think we'll book again. Would prefer to stay somewhere else, and go to the Chateau for dinner or brunch and enjoy the grounds at that time. While I appreciate the age of the building and no doubt challenges re: heating/cooling/plumbing, etc., I feel improvements could and should be made considering the price you're asking for the rooms. Room was also quite small and bathroom very small, and "smelly." There is an overall mustiness in the Chateau as well, probably compounded by all the rain prior to the time we were there. It really does take away from the beauty of the building, the warmth of the staff, and the overall experience.

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Loved meeting Victor, the dog :) The grounds were beautiful and exceptionally well tended. Stunning location on the Ottawa river, and very much enjoyed the benches and walkways along the water, as well as the trails. The main building is a marvelous piece of architecture, and enjoyed the photos and history along the walls. The indoor pool building is also amazing. We had dinner at the main restaurant (it was my 65th birthday), and my meal was delicious (halibut). My husband said his (crabmeat pasta) was so-so. Our waiter was kind enough to make adjustments to the beet salad for me, as on the menu it contained goat cheese, which I don't care for. Breakfast the next morning (eggs benedict) was just ok. Service in the restaurant was always excellent.

I thought the restaurant was expensive for dinner. We had a lovely dinner in Montebello village the second night that was much less expensive.

The grounds of Montebello are wonderful. Breakfast buffet is delightful, if a tad expensive, but worth it overall. There is a warmth and beauty to Montebello that leaves you feeling peaceful and refreshed.
