How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location next to a busy road where cars and motorcycles like to rev and race, not the hotels fault but other guests should be aware.
The staff, the pool, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was very well done.

The neighborhood.
Breakfast was great and the pool was perfect for the kids. Loved their thoughtfulness of the extra makeup removers for the dancers :)

There were 6 registered guests in the room but only 3 bath towels. It would be nice to be told to get pool towels from the front desk and to have a place by the pool to place used one.
The location was great, easy to find, and get to. The room was clean and a great size for a large family. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Having breakfast included is a must for us, and the breakfast was really good with several options of hot and cold items.

Pancake machine (barely cooked, not great)...switch to the wafflemakers, and you'll have the perfect breakfast! Didn't love grabbing pool towels from front desk- inconvenient. Better to stock in the rooms or have waiting in the pool. Pool too cold.
Delicious sausage and hashbrowns,great selection for breakfast options. Comfy beds. Good sized room. Very clean. Friendly staff. Early check-in/late check out wasn't an issue.

Easy to find, secure. Family friendly! Kids had a blast in the pool! Towels could have been larger but overall will recommend Wingate to my friends!!

The heat was very poor in our room. Bed was very hard. Room was very stark and the TV and microwave were in very odd places and tv was hard to watch.

There was a lot of unfavorable patrons around the property outside. Slightly scary for kids.
Very clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Pool and hot tub were Aldo very nice.

I think a visit from a professional plumber might resolve the boiler banging day and night, and the very difficult to turn shower tap (I think it's as simple as the washer put in being too big/thick for the valve). And a visit from an Hvac person would make the A/C actually heat, and mitigate the deep vibration resulting from 24/7 work of non heating A/C units. Each room would benefit from a desk. Breakfast would benefit from some protein (e.g. yogurt and/or eggs), and fruit or veggies ideally. If one room or another space could be eventually converted into a fitness room, with at least some cheap equipment (e.g. resistance bands, big balls, a few dumbbells and a mat or two) would be a bonus.
My 2nd stay here. Staff is very polite and helpful, doing their very best. The location is smack dab in the middle of downtown - walking distance to everything. Price per night is really attractive. The breakfast is available from 6 am all the way to 10:30 am. The dining room was very nicely decorated for the holidays. :)

We stayed here about 8 years ago. The rooms have been renovated, but aren't done up as nicely as it was before. Breakfast was round and below average. Round eggs. Round flat sausages. We giggled at that.
We liked the location. It was easy for my elderly father to get around the hotel.

its basically near 3 pubs, so you can hear some loud music. its good if your a pub person though, no need to get an uber.
Breakfast was good, mix of hot and cold items. Staff were friendly. Kudos to Anton for the good breakfast

your parking area was minimal. Although the berries trees lining the park-ade were nice they made a huge mess and we tracked the squished berries into the hotel and into my vehicle.

We booked room / travelled in family group of 4. Towels etc were set up in room for a group of 2. Breakfast was delicous for 3 of 4 members of our family. The 4th (child) has a gluten allergy. Food selection was limited. There was food for her, just limited selection.
Staff was welcoming / friendly / helpful. Room was clean. Parking was handy. Breakfast was awesome / delicious.
