Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Le Widor is a Bed and very good breakfast, or use the kitchen yourself for all meals. Parking is available in the street out front or owners garage. Sophie - the owner is so helpful in every way possible. The location is an easy walk to old Quebec, and 3 minutes to Rue de Cartier with excellent restaurants and general shopping. We were concerned about stairs to bedrooms and kitchen, but the owner took care of our baggage, so it wasn’t an issue.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to all the sites we wanted to see, but far enough from the cruise ship hordes. Sophie was a gracious host who made us feel comfortable and at home.

United KingdomExcellent sized bedroom and large ensuite. Shared kitchen facility and balcony to relax on Sophie gave us an introduction to Quebec City on our arrive.
Our hostess was excellent, making us feel at home. We couldn't have asked for more. Can recommend the breakfasts they set us up for the day. Location is good with restaurants around the corner, and the parkland as a walk into the old town.

CanadaWe loved our stay with Sophie. She’s a wonderful host. The room was beautiful with an extra large bathroom. The location couldn’t have been better. Close to rue Cartier for dinners at night and cafes in the morning. Close to the Musée de beaux arts, and the Plains of Abraham. Easy walking distance to the main sites in the old city. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

BelgiumWell, nothing we can think of!!
This place was such a find. we felt totally at home - there was a nice clean kitchen (incl dishwasher!), with outside terrace. The location was perfect - accessible to old Quebec but also to a nice restaurant and shopping street used by the locals. Sophie is an incredibly hospitable host, and prepares a super breakfast (aided by Robert's quiches we gather!!). It was quiet in the night (our room faced a side-street). The room is spacious enough, with an excellent bathroom. There is a laundry facility which was great. The room was cool enough despite hot temperatures outside.

United StatesThe location couldn't have been better to be near history, food & drink! The front porch was perfect to people watch and enjoy the porch swing. The setting was close to local markets, sidewalk cafe's, and emtertainment. We could eat inside or out, You can tell our host "Sophie" works so very hard to make all welcome and comfortable.

United StatesNothing! For an additional $15 Cn a day we were able to park our car in Sophie’s garage, (prior arrangement with Sophie)and with overnight temps solidly below zero and a 24 hour snowfall it was well worth it! Street parking is limited and parking garages 5 to 10 dollars more per day. We would go back in a heartbeat!
The breakfast, which did cost 15$Cn extra per person, was lovely, juice and coffee or tea, yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, and homemade quiche or blueberry-maple crepes. Well worth it

CanadaGood location, we can walk to the Old Port in 20 minutes. Only 5-minute walk to a street with a large selection of restaurants. Sophie, the owner, let us park our car in her garage for $15 a day, so we left our car there and walked most of the sites. We were hesitant about the $15 per person breakfast, but it turned out to be a good deal. We ate a delicious and hardy breakfast, so we just have a snack for lunch then have an early dinner. Lunch in Quebec is not cheap. Sophie is a great host and, her breakfast chef, Robert, is talented friendly. We will definately stay there again when we go to Quebec.
