Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

CanadaParking was inadequate. There was only street parking and it was limited to 2 hours so the car had to be moved frequently which limited how long we could be away from the building. I did not realize when I booked and paid for room that it only had a smart TV with no cable. That was very frustrating. The mattress on the bed had no support and the bedroom was very small.
The location was very good. There were a lot of things to see within walking distance. Kitchen was well equipped but we did not really use anything but fridge and coffee pot. Bathroom was very clean.

AustraliaConfusion how to enter apartment, basic set up very hot in unit, no ac. Sun very hot against lounge window. Very little in basic extras, only two tumblers and one wine glass. Bedroom very small. Apartment backs onto a car park.
Location was close to town main centre. Apartment was new, but soul less.

CanadaDaytime parking is very difficult. Quite a small bedroom. Towel situation seems like they are using hand me downs, need more for a 2 night stay.
Location of course, in Downtown Sidney, very central. Unit is nice and new, kitchen outfitted well.

CanadaCheck in time is inflexible and not until 4 pm. Host charges $125 cleaning charge and we stayed at the condo for 11hours. Said it takes 5 hours to clean. When we got there, there were visible crumbs in the ground and fingerprints on the mirrored glass side table. You would think $125 for the five hours and the place would be immaculate.

CanadaNeed a proper bedside lamp in the bedroom and a good floor lamp in the living room. Need a few more glasses; there were 2 tumblers and 1 wine glass. Not an issue since I was the only occupant, but could be a problem for groups of 2-4 persons.
Central location in Sidney. Close to the pier & waterfront walkway, shops, grocery stores, restaurants, bakery, and coffee shops. All within easy walking distance. Quiet and secure building. Generally well equipped with a little room for improvement. Downtown Sidney can be a busy place and parking is always at a premium. The lot behind the building is really convenient for loading and unloading; it has a 3-hour limit and no overnight stays. However, the town has recently designated a nearby lot as a pay lot with overnight parking; it’s only 3 blocks away. Latest parking info is on the town’s website. Host was responsive to questions, and all emails were thorough and clear.
