Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

AustraliaHi We had 2 Stays within a short space of time , the first stay was not the best , on occasions we had to wait 20 mins for the lift, conference people etc, no room in the bar or the pool and the pool area was left messy dirty pool towels etc, a very Loud group of guys who where trying to take an umbrella from older people, no staff helped out it felt more like a 3 star hotel 2nd Stay was very different no conference, they also upgraded us to a beautiful room as I had mentioned a few issues , we where so much happier the 2nd time around I totally understand it is lack of staff in all hotels we stayed in 5 Fairmont's and we will come back again

United StatesIn the lounge area, I was overcharged for one of the items that I ordered and let the waitress know that there was a mistake, She said she'd take care of it and that she wasn't sure how to charge for it (There was a dessert with ice cream on the menu and I only wanted ice cream). She reduced the charge by only $1 which still resulted in an overcharge for the ice cream (The original dessert was $13- dessert with ice cream. I ordered ice cream only. She originally charged me $14 which was more than the menu item. When I let her know about the mistake, she changed my charge to $13 which was the cost of the dessert with ice cream.) She was unwilling to correct my charge further. I was quite disappointed. That single action by that one waitress tainted my opinion of the integrity of the lounge/dining staff. Other staff members were exceptional and provided service above and beyond my expectations. (Check-in staff, room service staff, etc.)
When we needed to check out, we had special luggage tags that needed to be stapled to our bags. We called the front desk to ask if we could bring our luggage down to have the tags stapled. They were more than willing to help us, and actually went above and beyond what we expected in the way of service. Not only did they immediately send someone to our room with a stapler in hand to handle our request, but the gentleman who came to help us also checked that we had our necessary documents to ensure our boarding went well, and transferred our luggage to the ship embarkation terminal across the street for us also. This extra attention made us feel like highly-valued guests. We've stayed with many hotels around the world and have rarely had this level of service. Thank you so much for our quality guest experience.

we loved how the pool was outdoors and for our morning swim we saw the sunrise!! also the lobby was connected to the restaurant and we had the perfect view of the harbour and cruise ships docking! the staff were exceptional and so nice! also they upgraded us to the harbour view free of charge so that was a bonus! The in room dining options were very healthy and low on sugar (smoothies were actually made from real berries!)

United StatesThe Fairmont brand. While this facility was excellent, we wound up staying at Fairmont's throughout our tour and suffice it to say will NOT be staying at Fairmont's again. Air Conditioning is not assured at some locations. And at those locations, the Fairmont practice of having heat generating lights turned on as well as the TV results in a hotter room than necessary, especially when there are no means for cooling the room down. We arrived at one Fairmont and the room was at 81F. Makes for miserable sleeping and not rested for the next day's tour.
Picked because were staying there the following night as part of a tour. It was great!

SwitzerlandWe had a newly renovated room at the Fairmont Gold Club-Level with harbour view. The club level is worth the higher rate. A very good breakfast is included as well es non alcoholic drinks and snacks the whole day. The patio overlooking the waterfront (Canada Place) is stunning. The staff was very friendly. Separate check in/out and concierge service. The Location directly at the Waterfront is perfect.
