The building and rooms are very old and in need of upgrades. The bedspreads/comforters are so old that they don't seem clean. Same goes for the carpets.....you feel like you have to wear slippers or shoes at all times.

This property is good value for the money. Its in an excellent downtown location! The suite was spacious and clean and the kitchen was very well equipped (except for the lack of milk or cream for our morning coffee, which they were supposed to have in the fridge).

Nothing to dislike. Unless you cannot walk up a few flights of stairs because this 1840 house does not have an elevator.

An Absolutely Treasure. Each suite has its own theme from history but offers everything you expect from a modern apartment. I’ve had the pleasure in staying in both the C&C Room (Caesar & Cleopatra) in the main building and the 2 story/ 2 bedroom Carriage House, which also includes 2 fireplaces and honestly I couldn’t recommend this option any higher if you’re looking for a romantic getaway.

The only challenge was I had a first floor room, and there's lots of traffic (foot traffic, vehicles) so noisy and privacy was hard (old drapes, blinds didn't work).

Location is excellent, walking distance to aquatarium, restaurants, businesses. Clean, full size kitchen. Good value.

We were in Suite 100, right at the front door. People coming in/out at all hours was very disruptive. I could not sleep until after 1:30 am when hallway conversations outside our door stopped. I think carpeting or something to cut the house as well as a sign encouraging people to take their conversations into their suites might help. Many seemed oblivious to the fact that there were people in 100. They leaned on the door and gathered in the vestibule.

It was unique, comfortable and had everything necessary. The bed was very comfortable and having fresh milk to go with tea and coffee was very much appreciated.

Kitchenette was missing utensils to make it convenient. A bit concerned about all the extension cords. Could use a deep clean especially around the windows.

One small, minor comment ... there was leftover food in take out containers left in the fridge. Small oversight by housekeeping which we rectified quickly.

The location, decor, history and background of the host were exceptional. Would love the opportunity to meet the owner for a drink and conversation sometime!

I was disappointed that so many of the good restaurants and things to see were closed on Sundays and Mondays, even on Tuesdays. We arrived on Sunday morning and left on Tuesday, mid day.

Loved being close to the river and harbor. Also loved all the historic architecture in the town. Brockville is now my favorite small town within driving distance of ottawa. I also liked the boat tour of the 1000 islands. Next time I will snag a seat on the chests on the side of the boat for the best views.

Stairs to the bedroom were very steep. Shag carpeting needs to go. There is a musty smell thru out. Balcony looked out to the parking lot. Electrical wiring was questionable as to being acceptable to code. Rooms needed fresh paint.

Room was well equipped. Towels were great.

Outdated decor. Heritage building showed its age in some ways. Right beside a public parking lot so could be a bit loud specially when on the upper patio.

Location and amenities of the property were great. Rooftop patio was a great extension of the living space to provide a private outdoor space. Separate entrance was also helpful.

The exterior back yard of the property had no curb appeal. The grass was not cut, the yard was not tidy, hose & ladders laying around & other things. Note that we were there for two days, we sat out back & used the bbq, picnic table & chairs.

Location and we liked the character of the room
