How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Staff had no clue and no help what time bus was. If we didn't fuss and check and stand outside hoping... we would have missed it. They live there and get deli ery every morning and hundreds of hikers come thru. They don't know what time the bus stops outside their door to bring the supplies in the am?
Clean room. Food looked good. Nice area for catching bus to hike arpette

There were simply too many people for the facilities, the space and also the catering to cope with. The food was very disappointing. No dedicated drying space.

We loved our stay during our Tour du Mont Blanc hiking trip. The dinner was amazing and the outdoor area is great for relaxing and sipping a glass of wine at the end of the day with a beautiful view. They also have some indoor rec areas with games and large tables where we played cards in the evening. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Food below average by Swiss mountain hut standards, dormitories lacking privacy (e.g. separators) and fresh air (no windows at high level, meaning top of bunk beds deprived of fresh air). I got up very tired ahead of a tough stage. Would have preferred to sleep in a tent
Excellent location on the Walker's Haute Route and Tour du Mont Blanc. Very friendly service!

As others have mentioned, the toilet and shower facilities were insufficient for the numbers of guests staying at the hotel and the standard of facilities were pretty average. The breakfast was very plain.
The view from our double room was idyllic. The booking experience was easy. Evening meal was tasty and plentiful

Shower had no pressure and tray filled up with water as the drain didn't work Toilet and bathroom facilities for men fitted in small cupboard size rooms so not easy to use Breakfast was only bread or cereal, so no good if you don't eat grains or gluten had to take shoes off, but a lot of people didn't so you get your socks dirty if you follow the rule No curtains on windows in the room so room too light to sleep early Noisy all through the night People sleeping in hallways, no idea if they paid or just decided to come in and sleep for free If it had been 20-30 CHF per night fair enough, but was not worth 60+

The issue with the hotel is that it is one of few options in Trient and lies on the very busy Tour Mont Blanc trek, as well as the Haute Route. You get the feeling that the staff are trying their best but are struggling under the sheer numbers of hikers coming through on a daily basis, some of whom may not be treating the place with as much respect as they ought too!

Great rooms! Wonderful if you're hiking the trail, and super helpful that it's super close to a bus stop! They gave us an option between fondu or pork for dinner. I chose the fondu and it was great! A luxurious place to stay when you're on the trail!

The single rooms were converted into six-bed-dorms. There were 10 rooms per floor, but only one tiny toilet and one tiny shower. In my calculation this is one toilet and one shower for 60 persons. There were no lockers either. The wifi was poor and the lounge was temporarily converted into a dining room.
