It’s a 10 minute walk uphill from the apartment to the train station.

Everything. Well appointed 1-bedroom apartment with full kitchen. Fabulous views from the windows and lots of outdoor lawn furniture. Receptive host. Great value.

The walk from the chalet to the Wengen train station can be challenging with luggage as it's an uphill.

The views!! The views from the terrace garden were breathtaking!

Nothing - it was perfect for us.

The amazing views of the mountains and nearby waterfalls from Chalet Protea were such a highlight. Our hosts were lovely and welcoming, and the place was perfect for our time in Wengen. It was very easy to feel at home and the chalet was well stocked with cooking utensils, oil/seasonings, etc. to allow for home-cooked meals as well. We were able to complete a load of laundry (with dryer) for 5 euros which was convenient too. We wished we could stay longer and we would love to come back, and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the Jungfrau region.

Not much - very good all round!

Plenty of room with a decent sized and well equipped kitchen to cook meals, and the views of the surrounding mountains and Lauterbrunnen valley were incredible. Was also very warm and quiet, so easy to relax if cold outside and get a good night's sleep.

Wengen is on the side of the valley so many properties and hotels involve a walk up hill or down hill into town or back home. The walk from Protea into town is quite steep in places, all uphill and takes 10 to 15 minutes. Coming home is much easier!

The hosts at this property are very friendly and helpful. The apartment is completely spotless, warm and comfortable, with excellent amenities and equipment provided. The views down the valley from the terrace are amazing.

The hosts, Ruth and George, are very friendly and helpful. The apartment was quiet and had everything we needed, and was surrounded by wonderful views. It was fine for us, but Wengen is on a slope so moving around requires walking up and down hills! It can be a bit of an ‘adventure’ with suitcases.

It was a bit of a walk up to the village and train with our luggage, but the location of the apartment was nice and quiet.

It was the perfect set up and the view to Lauterbrunnen was wonderful. Ruth was very helpful with suggested activities and was very nice and welcoming. The apartment was very clean.

I could have used more towels, it’s a bit hard to dry out the towels in the apartment. but that can be fixed easily.

The owners have provided everything you could need in an apartment and it felt like we were home. Arrival and departure were both very well organized - owners are very professional and also friendly. There is a fully functioning kitchen that includes fridge, dishwasher, cupboards filled with quality cooking and serving stuff. There is a washer and dryer you can use for 5 CHF. The garden in the pictures is in fact your own private garden and we took advantage of it every day, even a bbq night! I would totally come back here. not to mention, the apartment and surroundings were impeccably clean. the apartment is about 8 mins walking distance from train station and includes going up and down a ramp, not a problem for us but something worth mentioning. you could fit 3 people here easily, it’s a 1 bedroom apartment but the couch in the living room is a sofa.

Uphill walk to and from the place. Will be a workout with luggage.

Nice location, view of mountains, have use of backyard. Was great to have laundry facilities. Enjoyed walking to and from the place because of the mountain views. The hosts Ruth and George are super nice and helpful.

Had to walk uphill every time we took trains in the town. But not a big issue for us.

The apartment was very clean with a beautiful yard. The kitchen was well equipped. It got the view of Jungfrau from the yard. The host was very nice and accommodated us for our heating request. We enjoyed our stay.
