Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThere's nearby construction, so some noise pollution. The recycling area is nearby so some noise pollution as well when glass bottles were thrown.

SingaporeThe staff were very helpful, especially Niko with suggestions and directions. Also very kind to arrange transport to emergency doctor when he saw I was bleeding on my head due to a rock cut. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, it was yummylicious. The hotel was also kind enough to provide a kettle in my room.

Beautiful hotel with good food and service. An employee met us at the trainstation to collect and bring the guests in nice electric cars. Our luggage was being brought to our room. And what a room we had, view of the top of the Matterhorn. Beautiful. The breakfast next morning was good and the shuttle service of the hotel dropped us on time at the station to go back to Täsch.

United StatesNothing!
Melanie and her staff are amazing!! They care for you like you are family!! A shuttle can be arranged at no charge to meet you at the station but the walk is also not unreasonable. One of the big pluses is the delicious food! Dinner is the best in the city. Do not go looking for better because you will not find it. Everything is fresh and wonderfully prepared! They have outdoor seating which is a nice plus.

LatviaSometimes, if you leave window open, there was smell of smoke, like from chimney, most likely from neighbors house.
Everything. May be should add some sausages to breakfast menu, if people stay more than one day, so there is some variety in choice, besides omelet and bacon. Only related to warm food.

We loved the view. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good, except for one very nasty cheese sample. I suppose someone must like it, or it wouldn't be there, but, seriously, ewwwww! We laugh about it now.

RussiaLoved the quiet atmosphere inside the hotel and outside. Lovely interior in the lobby and restaurant, alpine style, with lots of wood and cosiness. The Alpine single room is ideal for a single traveller. Nothing unnecessary, perfect cleanliness and freshness, just like in four-star hotels. Soft feather pillow, comfortable soft mattress, weightless blanket... Just open the window and sleep in the freshest air. And all around you, there is silence, no shouting or talking until midnight. The hairdryer in the room was like a hairdryer for home, with several switches, not an inconvenient tube with one mode nailed to the wall, as often happens in hotels. The views from the windows are beautiful and very atmospheric. The view does not rest on the rough concrete wall of the neighbouring house, there is enough space, air and beauty in the windows. The breakfast is excellent, a great choice for all tastes. And how tender were the waffles! And the jam! Every morning you can taste new jam, it's like homemade! The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm, beautiful people sit and talk quietly, without any fuss and shouting, it was a pleasure to be among them. Impressive large windows and views, perfect company for breakfast. Hotel Jägerhof is love at first sight.

The hotel was in a good location only 10 mins walk from the main train station & also had a great view of the Matterhorn. We had a family room which was huge and had 3 balconies which blew the children’s mind. Breakfast was excellent, good coffee & traditional Swiss continental. The staff were great, & it was a nice touch that the hotel arrange to pick you up and drop you off with your luggage at the station FOC

United KingdomMy only complaint would be no tea and coffee in the rooms but I understand logistically that is difficult. The only other thing I didn't like is that I couldn't stay for longer!
The room was clean, tidy and the perfect size for a solo traveller. Good facilities, and glacier water straight out of the tap. An absolutely unforgettable view out of the window every morning no matter what room you are in and the centre of Zermatt is literally a 30 second walk away, as well as many beautiful viewing spots for the Matterhorn. This place is also incredibly affordable compared to many other places of accommodation in Zermatt so I would highly highly recommend! The staff are all wonderful (and English speakers as well thankfully as my German is not up to scratch!) they have a wonderful bar downstairs and a lovely glass fronted dining area and the food there was lovely. They also offer a free transport service to and from Zermatt train station when you arrive which is a god-send after a long day of travelling. All round an amazing experience, Danke Schön!

FinlandI guess I gave 10 points to this hotel last year, but this year’s grade is 8 because of the room. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have different kinds of single rooms. Last year’s was one of the nicest single rooms I have stayed in, but this one was pretty uncomfortable and weird, which was quite disappointing. There is no separate toilet in the room, but the toilet seat and shower are in the room. Felt really exposed. The bed is in a weird place by the window (and since there are no thick curtains, you’ll wake up at sunrise), and all the spotlights of the room are pointing in the wrong direction, and there is no light by the desk. This room is also next to the stairs, so without earplugs you’ll wake up at 7 when people start running in the stairs.
This was my second stay in the hotel. I really like the friendly staff, lovely breakfast and spacious breakfast room and the location, which is a few hundred metres from the busy centre. The hotel is in a quiet corner of Zermatt, but still easy to reach by foot (no major uphill). The hotel and the rooms are extremely clean.
