There could be more shelves or space for clothes/personal things but I understand that it would ruin the atmosphere of the former prison.

Location is great, in the centre, about 10 minutes from train station and 5 minutes from the ancient bridge. The overall experience was very good, something different from the usual, common hotels. Definitely worth trying for short stays! Very comfortable beds, bathroom is new and although small, fully sufficient. The room was clean.

There is central heating and no way to control it so it felt a bit uncomfortable as it was hot.

The location is good as Lucerne is a small place and it was in the old town.

Old central heating unit in room could not be turned off so one night it was uncomfortably warm. Staff are aware and this may be fixed in the future. No outlets near the bunk bed besides the USB. Street is not too noisy at night which is good because you hear everything. There was construction next door beginning at 7 AM and it was awfully loud. This is likely a temporary issue (May 2024). Pillows were very cheap and not very comfortable. Zero privacy in the dorm rooms (no curtains or anything similar) so get a private room if that’s a deal breaker for you.

Dorm was comfortable enough. Showers are good, basic soap provided. Bathrooms were clean. Lockers provided though they are small. USB-A plugs at every bed in the lamp. Linens and dorm room are cleaned every day which was nice. Staff were all very friendly and were apologetic and understanding of the heating issue.

Rooms are truly tiny (it is a former prison after all) with few amenities in the room. There is not much natural light.

Truly great location, really cool concept with interesting history and real prison concept feeling.

Our family of two stayed for 3 nights in a 6 bed dormitory. The space too small for six beds. Space in locker not enough even to put one bag.

The staff were very friendly. Location excellent in the old town just a few minutes walk from central station.

The room was too small, I understand that it is a jail but you don’t have any space to put your luggage, only in the bed. It is a good place if you are not traveling with heavy luggage.

It is a very interesting concept, the hotel was a jail in the past, so the rooms are like prison cells. It has an elevator and the staff is very kind, they gave us a map and some ideas to enjoy our stay.

Small place. We were 3, and couldn't move around the place. Also the 3rd bunk bed was difficult to climb.

Cant really sit on the bed because the top bunk is quite low, no curtains for privacy but small issues!

24/7 reception, beds are comfortable, washrooms are clean, towels provided, very well organised, location is very good in the Luzern old town. Note that in some rooms, if you open windows you can hear the noise from the street below

No privacy blinds or blinds in general. Must be a club below, very loud all night.

I like that they give you a bathmat for the shower so there’s less water and you don’t have to share. Sun room is nice.
