The price is crazy to be honest. It is four times more than a similar room in other European countries. But it is already the cheapest option we had at the time of booking. Here we are in the most popular place in one of the most expensive countries. If you have budget, please reserve a room with good scenery. It will make you feel more worthed.

The breakfast is perfect. You can ask for a cup of nice latte and scrambled eggs, which are not displayed in the area. And if you can find a seat next to the window, the view is stunning. The breakfast time really gets you prepared for a good day.

You can take a taxi to the car park but then a hike up an incline to the hotel … I know several friends who would have a difficult time… we did struggle some especially with our suitcases and we hike a lot… owner aware thinking of a solution. Hotel very up front during your booking so not a surprise!!!

The small hotel is absolutely exceptional except for the location… owners and staff went out of their way to make you feel at home. Their restaurant was excellent… meals delicious . Our room was large/ clean with a great sitting area! Balcony

The room was very comfortable and clean and the view of the mountains gives a special touch to the room. The hotel is very nice, comfortable and beautiful; I loved that it felt so cozy, plus they have a chalet decorated with lights which looks beautiful at night and during the day you can enjoy the view of the mountains from there. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the breakfast was very delicious.

Location high up on the hill reachable on foot only is not suitable for elderly or people who are not in good physical shape. Front desk not always staffed but can be easily contacted via WhatsApp. Single room was a bit cramped.

The hotel is positioned on a hillside, which is great for the view, but it is an effort to get up there especially with cases. The last 200M has to be walked. The hotel would not be suitable for wheelchair users due to the steep slope and the need to access stairs up to Reception and within the building. An external handrail up the stairs to Recepton is currently missing, so those with mobility issues may have concerns.

Very friendly and helpful proprietors. Breakfast was very good, well presented and with freshly prepared fruit.

The path up to the hotel is very steep, it was really hard to get there with luggages. But all the hotels in Grindelwald were on mountains so it’s very understandable.

We loved everything about this hotel. Friendly staff, great views, delicious breakfast, great location, clean and spacious room/bathroom. Would def stay here again in the future.

One annoying thing was to chase service personnel in the morning to get some coffee - they're nice but they were showing up only every 15 minutes or so to check for new guests at breakfast, so we had to go look for them. I'm not sure why the coffee machine is not part of the buffet, they clearly use one to make coffee when asked.

Firstly, don't be discouraged with reviews about steep path to the hotel - it's kinda steep paved walk but from the parking lot it's about 100 meters, maybe less, and it's not THAT steep - it's a regular Swiss mountain village walk. Just don't take all the luggage in one go, if there's a lot. The hotel itself is great - it's very pretty inside and outside, well maintained, comfortable and with great views. Receptionist that met us was very helpful and welcoming, and generally everything was great - it's in quiet part outside of the main street, yet it's just few minutes walk from the central area. Good breakfast, too.

That was the place I was looking for. Recommend. Switzerland is quite an expensive country. For a room in a 4* hotel, you will pay 500 - 1000$ (the same quality in other countries are 100 - 200$). But you can find a hotel like where I have been: small, with a touch of local taste. Close to the rail station, shops, and restaurants with astonishing views of beautiful mountains. The hotel will be renovated in the next few months. I hope the local style will remain. The young people working there are great: with a warm smile, they will help you with everything.
