Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaNo issues at all.
This was my second stay at the hotel and my friend's first. It is so clean and the staff are lovely, breakfast is really good and the rooftop terrace has a great view of the city and the ocean plus hammocks on the very top level.

United StatesNot a thing.
Where to begin, starting from the location to the place itself, the service. From the moment we got to the hotel how they were waiting for us to help with the paperwork since we got there so late a night. The guys at the front were very accommodating with the best attitude. The room was big for the three of us with a great AC, bathroom and Netflix. The hotel itself is located in an old building, very well kept with beautiful views of the old Santa Marta. Breakfast was great made right in front of you, it feel like breakfast at home. Location is the best, super close to restaurants, bars, clubs, pretty much anything you want to do is at a walking distance.

GermanyCould have been cleaned better - there was dirt on the floor in the corners and the bathroom mirror had lots of fingerprints on it. Door to the balcony was not very secure (only one small latch).
Great location. Lots of nightlife, restaurants and cafes right around the corner. All tourist attractions reachable by foot. Rooms mostly quiet. Very friendly and attentive staff. Buses leaving to Tayrona National Park can be reached by foot (10 min walking). Area felt very safe, even at night.

ItalyI was at the hotel twice, before and after the trekking to the Lost City, and my evaluation is an average of the two times, good the first, terrible the second (I definitely slept better on the trek….). The hotel is in a very good location in the middle of the old town, close to the sea (not the beaches). There is a tiny pool, little more than a bath tub, not even good for a few strokes. I was supposed to be met at the airport but nobody showed up. There was a very nice lady at the reception, friendly and efficient, who apologized for the inconvenient and assured me she could reserve a bus to Cartagena when I would come back from the trek. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom big enough (no toiletries or hair dryer, but two towels). No complimentary water, of course you cannot drink tap water, but you have to buy it. When I came back from the trek there was a young lad who hadn’t the least idea on how to manage a reception. I was given a room that looked shabby and with a terrible noise, both from the air conditioner and from I don’t know what in the bathroom. I protested and I was moved to another one after over half an hour and a lot of to and fro to monitor what the guy was doing. Finally I had a room similar to the previous one, but unluckily with the air conditioning making noise when the temperature increased and it reactivated. Moreover the shower leaked and there was a drop going on falling all night. I wore ear plugs with some improvement but still I hadn’t a good sleep. The only towel was grey instead of white, and scratchy I asked the guy to reserve the bus to Cartagena but he had no clue and it took several hours and much pressure to have the thing done. Luckily the morning after the bus arrived and there was again nice staff who gave me breakfast even if it was earlier than standard hours.
The location is good, in the middle of the old town. Breakfast is good: delicious juice, fruit, eggs with toast, tea or coffee. Some of the staff are nice.

DenmarkNioce from the street. At night the othervise very nice historical centre turns into a true inferno of sound with one loudspeaker in the street after the other - leading to an unbearable kakafonia. Unfortunately, this very high level of sound polution also ended up in our otherwise comfortable room - making it imposible to get a good night sleep.
nice rooftop pool, beautiful indoor design, not the least the floor tiles

Netherlands- BE CAREFUL: at the time we were there (March 2023), a hacker was able to retrieve all the data about our trip (date, room, price, personal email address, phone number) and contacted us on WhatsApp, saying that there was a problem with our credit card and sending us a link to enter the number. Don’t fall for this scam! It remained unclear whether the hotel or booking.com was responsible for this security issue. - our room was actually quite loud, because it was next to where all the air cons were installed. - the rooftop pool is being used by pigeons for drinking and bathing, so it’s not super cleaned.
- very well located right next to the main tourist street. - good breakfast. - big rooms with a/c and warm shower.

Spainthe noise on the ground floor rooms is unacceptable. the ventilation machine is extremely loud. the staff helped me change the room to an upper floor, however at 4AM the sink and shower started making a lot of noise (the hotel was working on the water pressure systems). i would have paid more to have a quiet location
the location is perfect, the staff are very nice and the rooms are good value for money

United KingdomWe paid for a Junior Suite. The room was large but basic and had no chair to sit on. The location so close to everything turned into a sleeping nightmare given the noise outside. The steel stairs meant you heard everyone heading in and out of their bedrooms. You could hear breakfast being prepared downstairs
Lovely staff, the highlight of the stay by far. The hotel is very close to the bay and some great restaurants. The rooftop “jacuzzi” was somewhere nice to sit in
