Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Suzanna and Chani were amazing! They were both extremely welcoming and helpful! Staying at Los Mineros was my favourite part of my trip to Costa Rica. The guesthouse is surrounded by nature and you see all kinds of wildlife. It’s a perfect place to recharge. Chani is a great guide and showed me beautiful places in the jungle and numerous animals. I feel very fortunate to have found this guesthouse!

Situated right on the edge of the forest. Howler monkeys right behind the guest house in the morning. If you want to see some snakes make sure you do the night walk!!

AustriaIf you don't like being outdoors, this is not the place for you to stay. You would be missing out on an amazing experience though 😉
Great & chill place to stay, in the middle of the forest. The host and here husband were lovely, we took a wonderful tour with him and saw many animals, including a sloth ❤️ They were really caring, I was feeling a bit unwell, and they took great care of me.

United KingdomThis is a great guesthouse in a fantastic location. Suzanna is a very helpful and knowledgeable host, happy to sit and chat with her guests. Chani is a brilliant local guide and it's well worth going out on one or more of his tours. There are many options to walk locally in the Golfo Dulce reserve, which is stunning. You will see lots of wildlife without straying too far from the guesthouse. Overall, we really enjoyed our 6 nights at Los Mineros and were sad to leave.

United KingdomYou don’t have to have 4wd to get here but I think it would be challenging for your suspension if not! Don’t expect luxury - very basic. Make sure you have cash to pay for accommodation and tours - bit of a way to go to puerta jimenez if you forget!
Suzanna and Channy are great hosts; we did a day tour with Channy to Matalpalo and saw monkeys, sloth, macaws, pelicans - & more plus swam in waterfalls and at a beautiful beach. Just four of us plus guide and so good. Night tour also special. Very relaxed at property; big open air dining / sitting area and use of kitchen. Room very basic but clean and adequate ; cold water only ; fan on wall & mosquito net provided though not needed. Free good wifi.

Netherlandsbeside there being no wifi, there was also no netwerk servis. it dint border us to much, but it’s someting to keep in mind.
the owner offerd to cook for us becous we traveld with public transport, and the bus arived realy late (8pm). beside that, she also fixed a taxi for us to pick us up at the busstation. the guided night toure is realy awsome, and the guide is not going to let you go with out you being able to see animals like: caimans, red-eyed tree frogs and glass frogs. this guarantee and the good price for the toure makes it absolutely recommended.

RomaniaThe place is for sale and maybe the owner attention is not 100% focused on the little things. Not a big deal though.
The place where the guesthouse is located is stunning. You will be emersed it the middle of the nature at the Corcovado gates. The outside kitchen can be used to prepare your meals. We explored the area on our own and got really nice suggestions. The host was friendly and we found out a lot :) The room was basic. There is no hot water.

United StatesNo complaints.
I stayed at Los Mineros for 14 days straight. This place is so amazing! Once a friend and I were just hanging out on property waxing philosophical and a squirrel monkey jumped out of the high bamboo into a tree right in front of us. Then the rest of the troop, about 18 strong, filtered through playfully. Because it sits so close to Corcovado National Park, you get so much of the wildlife traversing through the property. Suzanna is so accommodating and gracious! She knows the area and the local people so well she is always able to steer you in the right direction. Channy is mind blowing as a guide! If you let him know all the things you really want to see, and reminders are welcomed, that man will put the effort in to find it for you. He made 4 attempts to find me a poisonous dart frog and found one on the 4th go. Most importantly, he not only knows where to find most things, but will show you as well. I have to say both meeting who Channy calls “Papa”, the biggest tree I’ve ever seen and climbing 50 ft up inside a Matapalo tree were the 2 Greatest Experiences of my adventures at Los Mineros! Both were powerfully spiritual and a profound reminder of how magical nature can be. So, I strongly recommend Los Mineros Guesthouse!

FranceThe only problem we had was the humidity which has nothing to do with Los Mineros. Shower was cold but you could change the word to "refreshing" after hiking in the heat of the jungle.
Awesome location close to Corcovado national park so a lot of animals literally in the garden. Very friendly hosts who offer interesting tours and helped with everything like bus times or where to go next. We planned to stay only 1 night and because we liked it so much we ended up returning and staying 6 nights and doing a lot of tours. Calm place, well equipped kitchen, cozy A-frame house with relaxing noise from a flowing river behind it. The only problem we had was the 99% humidity which makes it impossible to dry clothes after washing. There is a laundry service in the town which turned out to be well invested money. Otherwise definitely the best place we stayed so far in almost 2 months costa rica and we will definitely try to return here. We felt very close to the nature and the country also because we learned a lot about the life in CR, animals, trees and plants and also about the history of the place from Suzanna and Channi. Because of his commitment I saw my first terciopelo during the night tour which was an awesome encounter. Thanks again and we are hoping to see you two again!

SwitzerlandThe kitchen was not clean at all / it felt like it could have be a lot better with minimum efforts from the owner. We were bitten so badly by so many mosquitoes during our first night, some kind of net would have been appreciated a lot (specially as some previous comments mentioned the issue as well (which we saw only afterwards), meaning the owner should be more than aware of it). We did a tour with the owner's guide but it was a bit disappointing as he kept on taking breaks that we personally didn't need. The cabin was small but manageable if you don't mind
Being directly around the forest + the pool to cool down, where you can spot monkeys. The place in itself has a lot potential but needs some work to reach it

GermanyShared fridge is way to small; everything was dirty-ish (I know it’s in the middle of the jungle, but it would help to wash the mosquito net, replace the broken mirror, add a toilet seat, … small stuff like that)
Hammocks were great
