An Amazing experience in the heart of nature, the reserve is 12km2 with the ecolodge in the heart of it. Wildlife is everywhere and the experienced guide so knowledgeable.

There was nothing we didn't like, we just should have booked a 2 night stay to really maximise our enjoyment. We enjoyed the steep walk in- about 2 miles uphill- with a guide and not being able to charge phones etc overnight. We wish we had been Spanish speakers to truly understand all the guide was able to tell us. You must understand that this is a fabulous place to stay as long as you are fit to hike and allow at least 48 hours for the experience.

This wonderful reserve is not your typical hotel experience. It's a wonderfully situated, rustic camp which allows you to stay in primary rainforest. The food is typically Tico and as the reserve is run on firmly ecological principles, the accommodation is simple but scrupulously clean. The walks were incredible and the dawn chorus was tremendous.

I wish there was a fan above the bed, and that we knew that there is no working plugs or warm water.

I enjoyed the 1h hike to get to the destination, that was super fun! The local food, and fauna and flora surrounding us was amazing, it was so peaceful and idyllic, lots of things for little people to explore, hikes or hammock to chill and rest!
