Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were two main problems: the internet (wifi) connection does not stretch through the whole property. This could be easily rectified using properly sited indoor wifi singal boosters/antennae, and given the there is a TV with only Cypriot channels and no satellite, the internet is nowadays vital for general entertainment. The other issue (which I am assured is only in the period before Easter and to be fair is not the fault of the owners, who are as annoyed as everyone else) is the keenness of the local youth to let off firecrackers through the night (e.g. 11pm, 2am, 2:30pm), waking me regularly. One at 5:30am shook the windows of the villa. I'd avoid this property in the week before Easter again.
The cottage was very pleasant, with a good selection of indoor kitchen items and good beds and mattresses. It was clean and had enough space for 2 people, but would be a little tight for four, if in the colder period of the year. The outdoor kitchen area, seating area and pool area were very nice.

United KingdomYou definitely need a car for this property. This isn't necessarily a negative just advice. For beaches, the nearest one is a bit rough and stoney but the white stones are very pretty and great for sunset. There's a fish restaurant/ beach club. Maybe in summer it it's nicer to swim? Down the road, the Dragon Fruit Farm was the best Dragon Fruit I've had in my life! So you must go! The best swimmable, toddler friendly, shallow sandy Beach in my opinion is at St Raphael. If you like walking or running, there's a fantastic promenade there, you can literally walk/run for ages, I think it might go all the way to limmasol. There's also a number of beach clubs) cafes) restaurants in St Raphael. And an archaeological site nearby too. After seeing Limmasol I was very glad we booked here, despite having to drive to get to places. It's possible to leave the car and explore the village but if you want some beachtime then you'll want a car. Nearest supermarket is across the road but it's on the small side so might not have everything you need. Nearest non-Euronet ATMs are about 20mins each way. Which is a bit time consuming when you need to pay additional charges such as air-conditioning/heating etc in cash. So bring cash with you if possible. It would be great if you could book this option when booking the apartment itself to avoid getting the cash. Just a note that in winter, while the pool is open, and you can sometimes find it warm enough swim in the sea (borderline!), unfortunately as the pool isn't heated it was much too cold for me even in full sun (except after being in the sauna for 15 mins, then it was possible but you couldn't stay long!)
We ended up staying in the two bedroom apartment and absolutely loved it. You could sun lounge and relax on the balcony and despite some windy days it seemed quite protected from the wind. If you're there during the cooler months, you must try the sauna. It was one of the highlights of our winter stay 🙂 Location was very quiet. Maybe at night you can hear the odd dog barking but since it's in a small village it's very quiet. Kitchen had nearly everything we needed including a full sized fridge, and two electric hobs, kettle and toaster. I would have appreciated a microwave because you'll find in Cyprus, the restaurants always give you more than you can eat! but we were still able to reheat using the pots etc. Kitchen also had everything regarding cutlery, and other kitchen equipment, chopping boards, pots pans. Even a Cypriot coffee pot. Hosts gave us a lovely cake to celebrate the new years and it was really nice! Some reviews commented on all the additional charges being posted up everywhere, but it was just a few A4 laminated paper. Maybe they can put it into a welcome folder including some ideas on what to do/ see around the village. But it wasn't as bad as I was expecting after reading the reviews. Bed was almost too comfortable and had difficulty convincing myself to get up now and not in another 10, 20, 30 mins! Very warm also, extra bedding was provided so able to sleep with heating off.

Apartments are nice and cosy. The owner offered us at the arrival an upgrade to the higher apartment (extra price of 10€ per day), we got lovely to rooms flat with nice mountain and village view. We didn't use the pool but it looked good and clean. We had a problem with our neighbours but the owner solved this issue perfectly and we could enjoy our stay at cottage house. Thank you Eleni :-)

BulgariaRoom 1A has a big door/window looking directly at the church with zero sound insulation. It was extremely unpleasant to be woken up two of our four nights by 4 separate church bells (~6:00, 6:30, 8:10, 8:30). It is also next to a main street and even in this quiet village there are a lot of SUVs and other very noisy machines. If you are a light sleeper like me, rest would be impossible which spoiled our vacation. Boiler for hot water was very little but sufficient. I did not like all the signs around the room for everything that has to be paid additionally - 4EUR/day for AC, 30EUR for late checkout, 10EUR for sauna... I understand the problem with electricity in Cyprus but it was just too much and made the room look a notice board of a supermarket.
Owner Petros was extremely nice and helpful with all our requests. He helped us with an extra adaptor for charging our devices, provided us with a coffee-maker and even some Cyprus coffee. The place is in a very nice village in the hills above Limassol but a great base for exploring Cyprus, especially if you have a car. The village also has two very nice restaurants and a supermarket. The house is quite spacious, has everything we needed and the yard with the pool were very nice. One of the top beaches in the area was nearby, too.
