Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe rooms are a bit outdated but it didn’t bother us. There was no power socket near the kettle area which was a bit odd. It was expensive - but we understood why due to the niceness of the hotel and the top location.
Located in a lovely old building, great location, reception staff friendly, good breakfast, clean and spacious rooms. Soundproof windows so no problem with noise.

CanadaWould prefer a 24 hour reception; staff wasn't the friendliest
Room was immaculate and recently updated; rest of the hotel could use some updating, but it looks like they are prioritizing the rooms. Location was great; quick walk almost anywhere I needed to go and metro stations nearby.

United StatesIt was a little far from the train station to walk with a lot of luggage, which we had. The walk there was ok, as it was mostly downhill, but we took a taxi back.
The breakfast was super! I liked the fact that it is over a 1,000 years old and kept up so well and modernized. The staff was super also.

CanadaBathroom layout is weird (top floor in the eaves). There is no stand up shower and the bath is odd shaped and hard to get in and out of. Could use creamer or coffee whitener in room. Overall it was OK though
Breakfast was good. Room was very interesting and location was fantastic.

AustraliaThere was a city tax that had to be paid that I would have preferred to know about beforehand, it was only 4 euros, so no big deal and not the hotels fault. It was very noisy outside, but that’s through no fault of the location, it’s a hotel in the middle of the city and I chose to sleep with the window open for fresh air
The breakfast was absolutely amazing, I would have been happy to have that food at any restaurant , the room and hotel in all were super clean, the staff went above and beyond in being friendly. Gave recommendations, would hold your room key when you were out, and was able to leave my bags there looked after before and after check out. The whole set up of the place felt like I was really living the experience of Prague, you can go to any hotel that just looks the same but this hotel made it a proper Prague experience, I’ll definitely be coming back

United StatesWooden platform for bed extending about a foot, making it harder to get in and out at night. No window coverings whatsoever - can't make the room dark. Skull-cracking beams and ceiling overhangs such that it was necessary to crawl on hands and knees to reach fridge. No shower, just a very deep tub with no handholds or other assists.
Location is very good, staff extremely helpful, breakfast was very good, and the elevator was fast. For the younger crowd, I would rate the hotel 8. For the older crowd (I am 75) I would rate it only 6.

PortugalThe (small) window of the single room (3rd floor) could have a blind, as there was a neighbouring building with view, and for some people it may make a diference with all the light at night and during the early morning.
Very friendly and helpful staff and great location in the heart of the old town. Clean and comfortable room with air conditioning. Breakfast was good. Displayed pictures on booking are accurate for the economy single room.

CanadaThere is no air conditioning (it is an old building). The shower was tiny and it was a challenge to use. *Once again, this is a very old building, you have to expect to have to compromise some things
The staff was super helpful, the location in old town cannot be beat, and the price is excellent . Breakfast was made fresh every morning and had an excellent selection of foods (eggs, bacon, sausages, brown beans, pancakes, bread, pastries, cereals, apples, oranges, grapes, yogurts, sandwich meats, cheeses, cucumber, tomatoes, bell peppers, juices, coffee, and espresso).. Renata at the front desk speaks excellent English, and is very friendly and helpful!

GermanyWell, it was almost New Years, but I payed 150 Euro for one night! Way too much, considering the room was just 12 square meters and everything was pretty basic. Breakfast was not good. No fresh coffee, food was very basic and not much choice. Was in the cellar, felt a bit claustrophobic: small, no windows, not many tables, everything is very close together. Tv didn't work and was left to the bed, so I couldn't use it. The sink in the bathroom was way too small. Old carpet in the room (not good, if you are allergic, so I didn't sleep well).
Hotel is very central, but not very noisy at night (but there was noise from the street at a certain point). Staff at the reception was nice. I liked the style of the hotel and the furniture. Coffee facilities. Clean bathroom.

United StatesAttic beds in both combined rooms were hard. One attic room, 302 was very hot and only has a skylight window. Could not open for the rain. Staff would not give the ac remote when we first asked. Day 3 we were given 2 universal remotes and neither worked for the ac in room 302. They both worked in our other 2 rooms.
Staff was great, breakfast really nice, location great.

FinlandThere could have been a couple of water bottles and wine glasses in the room. Or even glasses of water. The breakfast was quite limited and all the food was cold. There were heating plates, but none of them were on. The bread was not fresh either.
