I did not like that a new guest was assigned a bed in my room but the bed was not ready for him to use. I accompanied him to the Reception to confirm the condition of the bed he was assigned and was offered the beddings for him to bring to his room. I advised the Receptionist that they should be the one prepare the bed for him.

I like that the staff very accommodating. The rooms are well serviced and trash taken out. The location of the hostel is very near restaurant and walkable to sights and museums.

Couldn't find windows to open and as far as I could tell there was no air-conditioning. So the night was sweltering, couldn't really get any sleep.

Big bunks, firmly secured so even when I climbed up onto the top bunk there was very little sway. The bunks were also quite large. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Room above entrance - people talking loudly outside the whole night. 12-4am . Taxis leaving & car doors slamming in the early hours. People smoking outside- smoke was coming in through window

For left side of bunker iron shelf is not so necessary. Even booking.com took amount from my card I paid one more time. So I double paid my stay and so far no return of my money. Staff was not so friendly about this situation. I created support ticket in booking.com as well. I hope I can get my money back.

Location is good. Bunkers are comfortable. Tv shows football matches. They have board games.

The receptionist was very polite and quickly gave is some advice about transportation and good sightseeing places! It was a small but clean room .The hotel was 5 min away from a major tram station so it took us like 10 mins to find everyything we wanted to see!

The beds don't have any curtains so you have a bit lack of privacy. Also the big lamp of the room was on top of one of the bunkbeds. If you were sleeping in that bed and someone would turn on the lights of the room you would get awaken by it. Also, the room lacked any space to unpack your bags. You would need to keep all your belonging in your suitcase to keep things tidy in the room. There was certainly enough space in the room to have a big cabinet where one could hang their clothes. The price of the stay depends on the activities in the center. During certain events the price can go up. It is not a cheap hostel but at least it is nice and clean.

I was staying in the 4 person dorm and the room was good enough. It was clean and there was space to store my luggage in a safe way. You will need to bring your own locker to lock it. The a&o was next to a very popular and lively area for people to enjoy the nightlife but also to eat nice and good food. The location of the a&o was easy to reach with public transport. Taking the tram it would need another 10 min walk from the bus / tram.

The hotel parking was full. The price high due to the Gamescom fair. The breakfast lack a little bit of brioche or cake as far as I am concern. There was no eggs cooked. I did not ask to check if there was any options available lay be on demands.

There is no aircon, so the window needed to be open at night and the street outside is noisy (although my stay was over the weekend, plus there was a festival - Aldstadtfest - in the city). The wi-fi here is unsecured, so I chose not to use it. My key card didn't give access to the communal kitchen (which also had a massive bank of washing machines), so I don't know if there would have been an additional charge to use this - I wasn't planning to cook, so I didn't enquire. On my first two nights, my roommate was a bathroom hogger who would spend 20-30 minutes' at a time in the toilet, which is an issue when there is only loo. On my third night, my roommate was on his laptop (at the table, not in his bedspace) with sounds (pings when receiving messages etc.) until I asked him to let me sleep at 1am. Of course, the establishment can't be blamed for either of these things (which never seem to happen in larger dorms!).

The hostel's location is good, about 20 minutes' walk from Heumarkt or the cathedral / Hauptbahnhof (Köln has an expansive Old Town split into north and south, so nothing is central) and check-in was simple - I was speaking in German until asked if I would prefer English, at which point I discovered that all the staff here speak English well. The room was spotlessly clean and I was able to secure a bed rather than a bunk (I was in a four bed dorm with two beds and one bunk, I had one companion for two nights, one for my third night and the dorm to myself on the final night). The dorm had its own private bathroom (separate toilet and shower, with a sink in each cubicle), so there were no worries about forgetting my keycard when needing the loo. The bed was comfortable, despite the plastic-coated mattress. The hostel also had vending machines, a bar (prices seemed reasonable, although I didn't use it) and food available. Buffet breakfast was an additional €9.30 and great value, with a good range of options (pancakes, choice of six cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, meats, salads, breads, coffee, tea, juices, spreads).

First thing is there were no Air Conditioning and it was bit hot during the summer and there was no fresh air in the room even though there was ventilation.
