Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA small fridge in the room would be useful.
Conveniently located near the main station. The room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. I liked the fact it had a balcony.

United KingdomI was on the first floor, facing the main street. There were people on the street talking until gone 2am, you can hear them very loudly in the room which meant I had to sleep with headphones in. Just be aware if you are a light sleeper. They may have rooms towards the back of the hotel that are quieter. Apart from this it was perfect.
The room was a really good size, very basic but that's what I expected for the price. The bed was very comfortable and there was a tea station so you could go and get more tea for your room if you needed to.

BelarusWifi connection wasn't really good. Shower curtains should be a bit longer :)
The location is really close to the railway and bus station. You can make self check in, the hotel staff will send you a guide what to do. Nice bed, you can control heating system in your room. There is no breakfast but you can go to find a cafe nearby.

Czech RepublicThe street may be noisy - drinking on the street goes on thru the whole night. Windows - when fully closed - are very good at isolating the noise ... but then you get no fresh air into the room as there is no ventilation system for air exchange. No problem though if you join the party yourself :).
Located in walking distance to the very center. Parking house some 100m away. Grocery store Rewe some 200m away. Room included a nice little kitchen corner with all basic equipment. Very helpful staff.

ItalyThe hotel (and the city itself actually!) was a very pleasant surprise. The hotel is centrally located and very very clean. The manager was incredibly sweet and helpful with us. It's true that the stairs are narrow but I can assure you they will fit an average sized human with luggage easily. Would book again!

AustraliaThe bracket that held the shower was broken and it was difficult to position the shower head. Otherwise, I had no complaints about the room or hotel.
The young woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located close to the railway station and within easy walking distance to the old town.

Location is ideal, walking distance to the train station, to the Metropol Theatre, to the Old Town etc. The staff was very friendly. There was tea, coffee, kettle etc. available. It was a basic room, nothing too fancy but had everything I needed

AustraliaIt is a little hard to find the hotel and it is right above the kebab shop.
This little hotel is pretty good. It is not a 5 star hotel but that was fine. It is clean, it is comfortable and close to the town centre. The beds are comfortable, the showers were great and there was a kettle in the room and complimentary tea/coffee and chocolates. We arrived after the staff had left for the day and they sent us a code to use at the front door to get our key to access the hotel. We had booked 2 rooms and the staff gave us the keys and a choice of 3 rooms that we could choose from which was great and very thoughtful. I would stay here again.

AustriaThe area is a bit sketchy (safe, but just not as nice as other areas in Bremen) and the stairs are quite high without an elevator. On my last day I couldn’t get out because a person had fallen asleep in front of the entrance and the receptionst had to call the police to remove them. Also, for the same price you could get a nicer over all hotel in other cities, but since having lived there long term I realize that Bremen is an expensive place to stay.
The location is great! About 5 mins walking distance to the main train/bus station and 10 mins to the city center.

United KingdomThis is not a major negative but could be a problem for the elderly and infirm: entry to the hotel is by a single doorway and a steep staircase.
The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and very quiet considering the hotel's central location. The location is very good: very close to Bremen's Altstadt centre and also within walking distance of the main railway station (for those travelling by train). For car travellers there is a nearby multi storey car park two or three minutes' walk from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and offer helpful advice on dining arrangements. I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel am Hillmannplatz.
