If the staff had warned us that if it was cold, we could turn on the radiators, then I would have given 10 points. But they didn’t warn us, the first night it was cold, and then we ourselves found where the radiators turned on and life became more fun

The hotel needed some refurbishment. The carpet in our room was very worn in places. A kettle in our kitchenette would have been useful.

The staff at the hotel were lovely and helpful. We had a really large room, with a double bed, a sofa and a small kitchenette with a fridge. It was very close to the train station yet it was very quiet. It was also close to the Cathedral and the old area of Cologne.

The room looks a bit run down (normal wear and tear over the years), but again it was clean clean clean.

Room is a bit old fashioned from a design perspective, BUT it had everything you need. It was spacious, CLEAN, and had a comforting homey feel to it. Also, the tap water was very drinkable and didn't taste funny.

Having booked at the last minute, selecting the cheapest alternative without really paying attention to details, I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful little hotel. A small reception and stairwell lead to an extravagantly large and comfortable room. Slightly old fashion, quality furnishing, efficient double windows to keep out the noise, and a simple, clean and functional bathroom. It is a 3-minute stroll to the railway station, and hence to the city’s landmark cathedral. Do not be fooled by the building’s drab exterior, this is a quality hotel.

The weather, but there is nothing the hotel could have done about that!

Staff were very pleasant upon our arrival - we had endured a long train journey from Augsburg via Donauwoerth and Nuernberg in dreadful snowy conditions.

The decor was aging a little, but, maintained. There was a protest out on the street on the evening I stay so it was a little noisy until 11pm.

Fabulous location as it is close to the main train station and a short walk to the old city. The room was large with a lounge chair and kitchenette.

Really worn carpet. But clean and no problem for the room price.

Location only a few hundred metres from the main railway station. A large room with lots of space for clothes etc for a longer stay (we were only one night) and very little traffic noise. Good reception, helpful.

Breakfast is not served, you can grab a snack or fruits on reception and ask for a cup of coffee. Despite good noice isolation window, you can hear the train or bike. Air conditioning works without temperature programming.

Honest price for the quality, very friendly staff, nice bed and hot water in the shower. Good service on reception, cleaning is very good. Nice set in the bathroom and Wi-Fi connection. Good noice isolation from the road.

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay in Cologne and it was everything we needed. The location is perfect if you want to be near the main station, cathedral, river or most of the other main touristy spots - around a 5-10 minute walk to most of these. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly at all times (also when contacted prior to our stay they were happy to store our luggage if we arrived too early to check in). Our room was clean and spacious, and serviced every day. It also contained a wardrobe type structure which turned out to contain a small kitchen, including a fridge which was handy. Other kitchen equipment is available from reception eg kettle, microwave etc. Although we did not make use of the kitchen I imagine it could be useful if you’re travelling on a budget. A large portable air conditioning unit was provided in the room which worked well. We requested a room with a nice view if possible and they did their best to meet this request, although how nice the view actually was is probably subjective! We were on the 5th floor, but this was no problem as a small elevator is available. The proximity to the station and train lines was not a problem, as the room is soundproofed by a double layer of glazing - we were not disturbed at all. If, like us, you’re looking for a reasonably priced clean room with good facilities close to the station/cathedral then you won’t go far wrong with this hotel.
