Very friendly staff and excellent facilities

The rather bossy managers, especially over the breakfast staff. It may be a cultural thing but to us Dutchies, being strict with your staff comes across as bossy, unkind and unwelcoming.

We loved the breakfast. The staff were very agreeable and helpful when they dared to be. We also love the location, with fantastic views over the town, harbour and sea.

If I would have to note a drawback that would be the TV channels. If you don't speak German, your options are BBC World News and Bloomberg. Though few channels offered the possibility to change language, it was not working properly (suggesting: German or German, German or French which actually was still in German language).

We had a superior double room on 6th floor with an amazing view over the port. The staff was so professional, kind and competent, especially those at the breakfast service. While variety for breakfast was not huge, everything was delicious and never in short supply. The room was not too big, but just enough for a couple's short stay, with a safe, bathrobes and free mini bar (with an extra bottle of water in the room). Bathroom with shower so neat! I'd love to visit again the city and stay in this hotel. Make sure you have a look at the weather before you go. It seems there is very often (really strong!) wind and rain.

That's not hotels fault, but my locked bike was stolen in the front of the main entrance. Take your bike in the hotel. There are professional thiefs even there. The lock was cutted with bolt cutter.

One of the bartenders (or the hotel?) served me a GT that cost me 18€. Too stiff price when I paid 8€ in another hotel. All other drinks were 12-14€ which is acceptable.

Building now perhaps looking a little tired outside. Bar atmosphere seemed quiet and unimaginable. Perhaps that was why not many people in it Otherwise in our eyes nothing to fault it.

Very good size room. Magical view overlooking the bay. Very good selection of food for breakfast. Very attentive staff. Very good location for the town and walks on the Deich.

At that time the hotel didn't have enough employee for running the hotel, the restaurant was closed for lunch and already on arrival occupied for dinner

Our mattress was fairly stiff and the pillows were really squishy/flimsy, which can be fine for some people, but we both spent the whole night tossing and turning and I eventually got up earlier than anticipated feeling tired, stiff and with neck pain. Our shower head also had a bit of mold on it, which was surprising considering how pristine the room was otherwise. The room also had large windows, which I loved, but there was a small sign on them indicating that we weren’t allowed to open them due to mosquitos and spiders (even though they technically were able to be opened).

The hotel has a great location right on the harbor, offering gorgeous views over the water. The rooms were clean and modern with comfortable lighting and amenities. The spa area was clean and the facilities were enjoyable, and we had both an excellent dinner and a diverse, delicious breakfast in the restaurant - I felt like nothing was missing! :) We also came with our dog, so upon arrival, our room was already set up with a dog bed, food and water bowls as well as a lovely little package of dog treats with a message addressed directly to our dog! This was a huge plus for me because they treated him like a guest, so we felt especially welcome!!

hard to find a table in a restaurant in town for dinner, hotel provided no info. breakfast could offer more choice for a four star superior hotel. all massage slots booked out way in advance. car park always full.

instead of the official COVID rules they asked in the last moment for a subsidiary negative test although we told them that we were doubly vaccinated !! Thats costs us a 100 euro's extra!! when we came to the reception, no one asked about it and it wasn't needed! thanks for nothing!! Amd beforte breakfast we had to wait 20 minutes in line. Not a perfect operation I would say!! Best Wouter

The reason for the low rating was the lack of AC. I stayed there on two consecutive trips in two weeks and I asked about the AC and they said the issue was being fixed and it would be fixed the next day. It was never fixed. On my second stay I specifically asked for a room with working AC. Again, NO AC. Very expensive property and they should have working AC since it is listed on the hotel amenities. It would not have been an issue except there was unusually hot weather during my stays.

Property and staff were great. The restaurant is quite good but overpriced.
