Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
What's not to like. A stay in a castle with a private balcony, fabulous views and being very well looked after. Free minibar and complimentary sherry in the room. Breakfast was exceptional with a wide choice from the buffet.

CanadaThe cost for this experience is higher than one would like, but still worth the experience. Bell Hop service was very good to assist with luggage, but needing to get there by a deadline was stressful.
Everything about this hotel was amazing. It even had a bar fridge with a selection of beverages, including wine and beer, that was included in the room cost. There was a complementary flask of welcome sherry as well. The decorations of the room, the view from windows, and the top of the castle walkways was phenomenal. You really felt like you were living in a castle. The Restaurant service and food was really very good. Outside, there were pathways around the Hotel for walking excursions.

South AfricaI found the food incredibly expensive and drastically overpriced. 17 Euros for kids bolognaise! The food was exquisite and delicious though.
The stay was exceptional and exceeded my expectations. There was so much attention to detail and our 'stay instructions' were clear and beautifully presented. The museum was a highlight.

United StatesI love this property.
I decided to stay because it is a castle! I’ll come back because the staff were gracious and helpful, the garden is a joy to explore (even in early winter) and there a fun nooks for hotel guests to congregate for games/conversation or to read/knit.

ThailandWe didn't know the main restaurants were closed during our visit (the staff accepted our reservation without mention anything). WiFi signal wont' come through in some rooms (the staff said) including our room.
Once in a life time experience staying in a medieval castle. Classic yet very comfortable room. A million dollar view of the Rhine. Good walk in a nice garden. Complimentary beer, juice and drinks in the fridge. A kind of complementary liquor i don't know what's it called, smells like Glühwein though. Excelleng breakfast.

TaiwanNone. Love it all! I wish I could have booked for 2 nights instead of 1 night only.
one of my best hotel experiences. I understand how hard it is to maintain a hotel, let along in a historical building. The check in process was a big surprise, staff welcomed us so friendly and attentively, even when we check in very late, all the details inside the room, nice and warm, great view on balcony, the beautiful room key, heart warming welcome letter, spotless bathroom, well selected amenities(love the homemade shower gel), I felt like stepped into centuries ago. The moment I stepped on the staircase made me realized how fragile and precious this place is, it's a privilege to have the opportunity to stay here. The breakfast is tiniest yet the best that I ever had, food are fresh and well made, food counter is nicely displayed with the generous variation of food and drinks. I personally love the dining area, where gave me a peace of mind, I spent 2 hours having breakfast and enjoyed it every much. Also, there's a most beautiful smoking room in Germany, next to the most beautiful lady's room in the fireplace area. I will love to come again in spring to enjoy the castle garden, where is a hidden gem of this hotel. Photos can be spoilers for this castle hotel, just go and experience it. You will love it like I do.

NetherlandsStunning old castle with beautiful surroundings. We absolutely loved our stay. Not every day you can live in an old castle like that. Enjoyed the gardens and views. Only negative thing was that the castles nice resturant was closed on the days we stayed (Monday and Tuesday) but the food at the bistro was nice.

United StatesWe stayed in room 25. It's the "honeymoon suite" it's 2 stories and fit our family of 4 perfectly. My only complaints (which are minor) are the downstairs stayed pretty chilly, this included the bathroom too, even with the heat turned up. Also the bathroom water temps kept fluctusting for shower and baths so we had to adjust the temperature knobs.
The location was excellent, the staff was amazing, and the ambiance was phenomenal. My two girls really enjoyed it. The food was excellent as well! The staff was very very good with our two girls, which we much appreciated.

United StatesIt’s a steep walk up for the car park, need to have a way to contact the porter when you arrive for assistance to bring up the luggage from the car.
Everything was wonderful, we were pleased with the food, the flexibility of staff due to our dietary restrictions and the stay was one of our best.

AustraliaLeaving.
This was probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. There was so much to like you couldn't possibly list everything. Unique of course being a castle but the attention to detail and beautiful decorations throughout were amazing. Breakfast was fantastic and the view from the dining room even more special. Also for the price there were so many extra inclusions in your room that would normally not be included in the price. If that wasn't enough they have a fantastic museum and a book written about the history of the castle by the museum curator...Fabulous.
