How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We were not aware of the mandatory nakedness (textile free zones) in the spa areas (sauna, steam bath).
The location was really nice, it was quiet and the food was very good.

Spa closed until late on monday morning, so we couldn’t use the spa before to leave.

Nothing! It couldn't have been better!
We absolutely loved our stay here. Every aspect was beyond our expectations: the room, the cleanliness, the comfort, the amazing staff, the food (every course of every dinner was outstanding, not to mention the gracious friendly service - amazing delicious breakfast buffet), the pool and saunas, and finally the perfect location. Not only is it rural and quiet, and not only can you hike all over the place right from the hotel, but public transport by bus and train is so easy and convenient. It's an easy bus-to- train commute to Freiburg. Plus the hotel gives you a free pass to use on public busses and trains. The service is top-notch yet at the same time this resort is so unpretentious. Very relaxed and easy going. We had a great vacation here and we will be back!

The spa is amazing and stays open late! The staff was so accommodating and friendly. I even made friends with other solo travelers. The room was very nice. Walking distance to the small town and walking or short drive to many fun hikes. Food looked and tasted great. They even slipped me a little extra wine which was very nice 😃😃 10/10 recommend this place!

The restaurant staff was new and needs some training. A whirlpool could add to the wellness experience, a bar to the late night enjoyment.
Friendly staff, good room. Nice spa with a great panorama sauna. We enjoyed a trip with e-Mohntainbikes a lot, they can be rented for a friendly price.

The view from the terrace is amazing. The staff was super friendly. Food is excellent. Hiked are just at the doorstep. Room was super clean.

Swimming pool has a bit strange shape, making it rather small (will be hard to use with more then with 2 people, but during the whole stay have not seen any one else using it, so this was not an issue). Wifi-quality in the rooms was poor.
Great relax place. Covid measures were well enforced, so as a guest i felt safe all the time. Even the simplest rooms are of a proper size, and have big very comfortable bed. Chief has exceeded expectations. The food was so good, even did not want to eat outside the hotel. And many thanks for baking Black Forest Cake per request. Sauna with a view is the top! Variety of choices of sauna's. Some were closed due to covid. Tea house is a great idea. We used it really a lot, as chill area after dinner.

Wi-fi quality in the rooms are rather poor (no wi-fi), but good access from the lobby. If you do no speak German, be ready to be served last in the restaurant. For clean towels you need to ask. For 1.5 weeks stay the bath rob was not changed a single time, which i find very strange for a spa hotel.
Great place to get away from the world and enjoy some quite and nature. The food was amazing! Only 2 bikes at the property, but did not have any issues with renting them when needed. Sauna with a view and sun deck were the most used facilities. Great rooms. Many hiking routs nearby (accessible with local bus, no car really needed). Will definitely come back! Special thanks to sommelier.

The room is old style. The lighting arrangements of the room is not good. The bed is too small and not very comfortable. It’s too expensive considering what was offering. We were really surprised they charged us slippers. And also without telling us we have to buy it.
The restaurant is great. We were happy with the dinner and the breakfast. The staff are friendly. Sauna facilities are really nice.

The beds could be improved. This is another case where they spent significant money on the facilities and furniture and then neglected the most important piece of furniture in the room with "CHEAP" bedding. Don't hoteliers understand that visitors spend 8 hours laying on this one piece of furniture? The fellow who appeared to be in charge of the dinner staff openly criticised his staff waitresses and waiters indescretely in front of hotel guests. They were people who waited on me and gave outstanding service. They did not appreciate his attitude and neither did I. I noticed raised eyebrows from other diners. This man does not know what he is doing.
The breakfast is excellent and the friendly staff starts your day on the right note. Good service . The dinner staff were very attentative, friendly and gave excellent service with a smile. The food was very good. The spa facilities, sauna, sunning decks and pool were excellent.
