Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was not cleaned unless we asked it to be and one of the lady staff was very rude, also the shower leaked to the living room all the time and the room smelled very bad because of this

Limited choice of breakfast buffet, bit disappointing for the price.
Great location close to U bahn Station and train station. Lovely calm, peaceful area with lots of nice cafes and eating places.

The furniture is old and worn out in the room. Our room was in the back part of the hotel. The 3rd bed was in a certain glass veranda. The room had big inner hight, which gave feeling of a hospital room. The shower has old style shower curtain, which doesn't seem. The hotlel offers parking for 25 Eur per night, which seems to be too expensive.
Very clean sheets. Clean bath. Good location. Nice area with restaurants. (Try the Indian next door! 😉)

Awful WiFi connection in a room. I asked to check it and the first thing I heard was "maybe it's your phone because it works here". They promised to pass it to their IT but I never heard back.

No air conditioner in the rooms. If you keep window open, you will not be able to sleep because of noise of other guests sitting in the inner yard of the hotel. There is a restriction for sitting there at the night but hotel staff doesn’t do anything to prevent that. Electric sockets near the bed are located at the ground in very hardly accessible place. Also, during the checkout I had to pay additional 5 euros city tax. I was told that initial price includes city tax for 4 nights and I have to pay for the 5th night. However initial booking and the price was for the 5 nights. When I asked how was the initial price calculated without it, staff member wasn’t able to explain it to me.
Good location. Very tasty breakfast with good meals. Hotel has elevators.

Old rooms but in good conditions, the carpet should be cleaned more frequently in particular during hot summers. No air conditions and in my rooms there were dangerous steps from the room to the bathroom.
The position is perfect and the neighbors are very nice. The hotel is very quite and it has a great breakfast.

The cleanliness of the bathroom and toilet could have been better, it was clean but there was black de-colouring of mould that can easily be bleached. With a little extra effort it would look great.
The room was spacious, we had a wonderful and rich breakfast. The staff was really friendly and helpfull, very service oriented and pleasant to our children.

In the very pleasant neighbourhood of Charlottenberg. Lots of good cafes, restaurants and bars very close, but still a quiet area. Large room, even with extra sofa bed. Good shower. Everything very clean. Good buffet breakfast. 5 minutes walk from U-Bahn station.

The room we originally booked was not available anymore. The hotel provided us with a proper alternative, within acceptable time.
Hotel was located near the line Kurfurstendam-Alexanderplatz. Breakfast was good. Bed was good. Shower was good. At night the curtains covered the windows completely.
