How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The internet was very bad. I only had WiFi close to reception.
It is a quiet and calm place. Although the offer is basic, the bunk beds are comfy and you can have a nice good and restful sleep. The breakfast provides you the necessary for the day but it is not a luxus buffet. I was bike-packing and there was the possibility to lock the bicycle in a secure area.

We have to prepare bed clothes. No soap or toilet products we have to bring. In the breakfast many times they dont put products when it is finished. No tea electrical to prepare bedroom, neither coffee machine in the commom area.
Nice place in the forest. Good breakfast. Nice room. Good price. Parking place in the street for free. Very good shower.

Location is a very quiet residential area. It is somewhat more diffciult to move to Aachen centre for diner.
We travelled by bicycle and all needs were addressed: safe storage room, bedlinen and towels provided. Facilites were all very clean. Breakfast was good and in sufficient quantities. All contacts prior to the arrival including during the booking process were fully satisfactory (quick responses).

Nothing!
Large and comfortable room. Modern and old buildings form a square on a rise in amongst trees. We were able to store our bikes in a secure place overnight. Breakfast was good. Overall a good Jugi experience.

The check in is limit hours. Besides there is a big space área it is not allow parking in the hotel, timetable for breakfast in the weekend is not long, no tv neither eletrical tea in the private double room. No shower gel in the bathroom, neither towel for floor after bath. It is a simple room. No auto.atic coffee macchine available in the social área.

Quite a way from the centre, but bus stop was nearby.

Too many kids running and shouting everywhere, until late at night and early in the morning. The hostel is far from city center but there is a bus stop close to it.
Excellent staff, very helpful and kind. Very nice breakfast, showers and bathrooms. Nice price relationship, despite the noise I would recommend it.

The carpet smelt like wet socks and the sink on the room was clogged a bit.
It was quite and the staff were friendly, the breakfast was really good.

- A bit far. There is just 1 bus that goes there every 30 min or so - Shower was just dumm. Very high up and there were like 5 separate thin streams. I can't say I felt very cleaned up after it
Jugendherberge (in general) isn't exactly a hostel. This one is like a camp, there are groups here and there and the cows are walking around in the field nearby and the area is foresty. It's cheap and good for a night or two. And the breakfast is included.

There is no proper Wifi connection in the rooms. You may have to sit in the common area to access the Wi-Fi

Free wifi = Free wifi for 1 hour. The room was stinky and a sign at the breakfast said maximum 2 little breads per person, what is weird in my opinion. The beds are hard too.
Cheap staying outside the center of Aachen. They have a place to store your bike inside (make sure you bring your own lock).

It was not possible to upgrade my reservation to correct the mistake done during reservation The absence of this flexibility to upgrade my booking has costed me extra money and in addition the price for one night in the same hotel for 2 adults and two children was yesterday on our arrival 115 EUR which means the system has costed me more than 60 Euro. I don't see in the future to consider reservation by booking. Com. I will appreciate if you could refund me the extra payment I did to spend the night in this hotel
I get the booking in a short period of time and was successful but I faced difficulties in making the reservation while making payment. In the first round of trial i got an offer for 112 Euro 2 adults and two children but since the payment process was not successful I tried to repay again and the offer was increased to 122.59 EURO, which i paid succefully but in the second step all other information was correctly saved except 2 children which I noticed while we were reporting at the reception. We tried to upgrade the booking but with no success and I was obliged to pay extra 49 EUR to get similar services. I appeal to your office to refund the 49 EUR which I paid extra to use the same service.

It is not a real hotel. We tried to cancel but she would not release our room. She was terribly rude to us, coughing and blowing her nose. The worst was all the wild kids running and shouting.
We arrived and there were shouting children running all over the place. We were informed the school classes take place here. The receptionist was rude and coughing and our room was not ready
