Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyPerfect location, many hiking paths right the door step. They have a lovely little common area that’s a great place to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine in the evening, especially since the restaurants in the village close quite early.

LithuaniaThe hotel kept sending messages only in German. Even by phone, I could not get information on where to find a reserved parking space.

GermanyWi-Fi password is not provided in the room, only at reception. As we used check-in after hours with a key lock box, we had no need or opportunity to pass by at reception.
Check-in after hours with a key lock box was easy

DenmarkRoom faced the street and in the early morning traffic noise disturbed sleep. The city is small and there was not much traffic, but probably the same motorcycle every morning.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet with a broad selection. The village is fantastic, and a good starting point for day trips in the vicinity, fx for accessing Malerweg.

GermanyThere were a few things about this hotel that didn’t seem worth the money spent. We booked last minute for 155 euro and while the area is a bit pricy I was expecting more from the hotel for what we paid. We were unlucky to get a room in the cellar which had a tiny window. The room on booking says something like Mountain View. city view, and terrace which is misleading since there was not much to see from the room. There are some nice public hang out spots (a public terrace) on the property that have these views but I found it misleading. The bathroom also had a bit of smell like sewer. It was clean but probably is not able to be properly aired out due to the location. Or there is a small plumbing issue. So in the end the room was fine but not cozy. They also mentioned a vending machine Apotheke on the property which is a great idea but we couldn’t find it
Good location, nice staff, easy check in and check out procedure

United StatesLimited parking but they handled a permit for parking nearby. It is not the fault of the BnB but the area is not that accommodating of non-German speaking tourists.
Good room and breakfast. They have a separate lounge building which you could access with your key. Very comfortable and a great place to spread out and purchase drinks if you want. Also, assume place for hiking.

GermanyThe whole layout of the place is nice. There are multiple private rooms and from my understanding one appartement. There are 2 common areas with couches and chairs and one of these areas has got a big TV and board games to play. There's a big room for breakfast which to my understanding is usually open for everyone to use during the day and have free coffee and cheap beers and soft drinks. Now with Covid it's locked after brekkie but that'll change again. Our room was fitted with a very comfortable bed, a couch, tv and a wardrobe. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely shower, hair dryer and a heating rack to dry towels on and warm the room up. We also had a little outside terrace with a table and 4 chairs and a lovely view up to some old castle ruins. Everything was exceptionally clean, well maintained and obviously put together with love and an effort to keep the guests comfortable. The bed was a cloud to sleep on. There is parking available for 4€ a night and it's nearby and easy to access. Special mentions to the staff who are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They are happy to help you out with any inconveniences or questions you might have. They also give advice on day trips and sights to see in the area. Breakfast buffet doesn't leave any wishes unfulfilled. There are fresh bread rolls, cheese, sausages, butter, margarine, cottage cheese, yoghurts, cereal, fruit, juices and coffee, hot chocolate and tea. The location is lovely. 2 minutes walk away from the Elbe river and about an hour walk from the famous Bastei in the Elbsandsteingebirge. There are restaurants and Cafés around but be aware: they close early. Villa Sophie has got WiFi.
There's nothing not to like here.
