Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThere is some work to be done in the area of room cleanness. It seemed that the floors were not vacuumed properly, there were some objects left by previouse occupants of the rooms. The tub requires some serious cleaning. A kettle in a room would be a great addition.
Great breakfast, perfect location near the underground. Spacious lobby, comfy room (however it requires a bit better cleaning). A good hotel for city exploring.

United KingdomRoom was too hot, it doesn't have aircon but a cooling system that is ineffective. The rooms only get cleaned if requested the day before, meaning bins are lying unemptied unless you request housekeeping. The hotel claim it is for environmental reasons, but in my opinion it is a cost cutting exercise. There was lots of visible dust flying around the room. Sofa bed uncomfortable and noisy whenever you moved. The side of bath panel was very high, I would imagine it would be unsuitable for many. Nowhere near enough space to store clothes and luggage. There was an internal door that could be unlocked that leads to the same type of door in the adjacent room (albeit locked from that side, but as with our door, it could be opened from the other room), this making the soundproof inadequate. My guess is that this door leading to the adjacent room must sometimes be rented out as one large suite? You felt too close to the guests next door, and you could hear them unlatching it to see where it leads to - that was very strange and unnerving. No tea/coffee facilities or mini-bar/fridge. Overall the hotel was far too expensive.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast great. Lovely location. Easy check-in/check-out.

NetherlandsHotel policy looks to be NOT to clean the room or change towels unless requested (which was not properly communicated - so it was surprising to find out for us). Not much space for hanging / storing clothes. No Minibar.
Convenient location right next to a metro stop and many services around (including a mall and other places to eat). Comfy room with combortable bed and view. Great breakfast with rich buffet!

IsraelThe room wasn't clean enough (the floor especially), although we asked to clean every day. Regular rooms have no refrigerator, so we moved to a bigger room, with extra money, but in the first room the fridge didn't work and in the next one there was a blocked sink. So we moved rooms for the first hour and were very frustrated. When we complained, the manager treated us very nice, made a reduction and gave us a plate of fruit. The breakfast room is toooooo much crowded with no place to sit. And so are the lines for the food. The bathroom is not equipped, there isn't even a place to put the soap. The water from the shower covered the floor...
The treatment of the stuff.

United KingdomBreakfast was very busy, always a queue for the 2 coffee machines. The room was quite hot, the Aircon didn't quite kick in, even asking reception to change it. The sink was very slow to drain and the toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall, but these were minor things.
Loved the style of the hotel. Lots of areas to relax, work or have drinks. The room was stylish and comfortable. Great breakfast selection and bar. Good south west location of the city.

Czech Republic- When checking in, a mandatory condition is to attach a card (although there is no mini-bar in the room). - Upon check-in, there was no shower gel (aka soap + shampoo) in the bathroom and the drain in the bathroom was clogged. However, this was fixed after a complaint the next day. - The first time we encountered the fact that for early check-in (before 15:00) you have to pay about 20 euros. Even if there are free rooms. - There is a rental of umbrellas (which is great!) but it costs about 4 euros per day. - Complicated check-out procedure. Some time before the check-out card from the room stops working. Because of what I had to return to the reception, wait in line to get access to my things again, then come down with my belongings, stand in line again and only then finally check out. - A bit strange system of requesting cleaning in the room: you need to book cleaning for the next day. The cleaning lady regularly forgot a rag or her card in the room. - There are no paper napkins in the room, no foot towel. - In the bathroom there is a glass "curtain" (which is very good), but under it is a huge gap through which water leaks. You will have to master the special art of not getting water on the floor while showering. - The room was quite dusty. - The internet connection is very slow in the evening. - Like most touristy things in Copenhagen, this hotel is quite overpriced.
- Good varied breakfast! - Very fast elevator :) - Great location of the hotel - a couple minutes from the subway station, which is a crossing of 3 branches! It takes 30 minutes from the hotel to the airport with no transfers. - There is an iron and ironing board in the room
