Some seating other than straight-backed, kitchen-type chairs would have been nice, like a nice reading chair and side table. The stocking of the kitchenette could have been better- the only cooking utensils was a fish spatula, one pot, and a pan that I had to ask to be replaced because it was so burnt out.

I am a "no frills", low-maintenance traveler. If the shower works, the linen is clean, the bed is comfortable, and I can cook, I really don't require much else. This is what you can expect if you book. Veronique and Michel are lovely hosts. They were very responsive to the few requests I made, and gave me great advice on local places to check out. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

We got the economic double room, unfortunately it can be very hot, although just like everywhere else. The wifi does not reach the room, but the common areas yes.

We had some trouble getting accurate information about how to get to our next destination via bus. We managed in the end however the hosts weren't quite sure how to do this.

We loved the location and loved the views from the room out across Las Galeras. The room was well located within walking distance of the town centre, restaurants and places to hire bikes, snorkels and everything else.

The house is great but keep in mind that if you want to hire an excursion to Fronton, Madama o Rincón, DO NOT DO IT with TWO BOYS that are at the beach, they are called Louis (nickname: Rambo) or Georglin. Their specialty is to convince you to do the trip with them for certain amount of money that in the end changes. In my situation the police (politur)had to handle the situation because it was not fair, and they most of the time support the tourists, so don’t be afraid to ask for help. DO NOT PAY MORE THAN 2000 pesos for the three beaches. Talk to Juan or Alejandro at the beach next to the boats and they will for sure give you a good deal. I paid 1500 pesos for two beaches and we were only 3 in the boat. Don’t let them rip you off. Apart from that, nothing bad to say about my stay in Yes Papa!

The street is quite loud. You can hear some bars until late at night and the motorbikes as well. But this is basically in every hotel in the town.

Veronique was very friendly and helped where ever she could. She gave advice for the best beaches and how to reach them and offered to do the laundry.

Let's start with the first impression. The whole property is gorgeous. The rooms, the bar, the paradisical garden - everything is designed and decorated with great love an care. The place is bursting with carribean atmosphere and invites you to just hang around and enjoy the relaxing mood for hours on end. As promised, the main beach is right around the corner and all important supplies can be found within minutes. The breakfast is quite a keeper. Simple, but tasty and done with great care. The homemade yam is a must-try! Most importantly, our hosts. There is no lack of friendly people in the DR, but Veronique and her husband really take the cake. They are actually two of the loveliest and most caring hosts we ever had on all our travels. Veronique would always spare a couple of minutes for a chat, or to give us precious advise about life in the DR. Even after moving on, we would come by every now and then to enjoy the company, the atmosphere and a well-priced Cuba Libre. We are glad we met you, guys. Thank you

Though the room was actually quite cozy, there were two features missing, that are rather important to us. There was no hot water in the shower and (more importantly) no door to the bathroom, but some kind of veil. As a couple sharing a room, that was quite a dealbreaker.

There are lots of mosquitoes, but you can ask the host for repellent or incense if you don't have your own. If you stay more than 2 nights, ask to have your room and bathroom cleaned at least every other day. No AC but that's typical for accommodations in this budget.

Absolutely wonderful host Veronique - one of the most helpful people in town and speaks great English and of course French and Spanish. Ask her for crepes for breakfast! The location is very convenient to everything. The rooms are very big.

Noise and sound cancellation are not the best. If the room doesn't have a/c (mine didn't), beware of hot nights if you have trouble coping with heat.

Amazing owners, very nice and always ready to meet you needs and make the stay good. Cozy house and room. Spacious room and confortable bed. Very close to the beach and restaurants. For the price, it's very very good.

The mattress was not very comfortable, you could feel every spring. The room was facing the street with louder traffic during the day and there was a noisy construction site next to the bedroom window.

The hosts were lovely, very welcoming and caring, the garden and common area was beautiful. You feel home right away. The hotel was right next to the beach and very convenient location. The hosts installed a mosquito net around the bed for me.

In one of the rooms the wifi reception is not good, and it is rather humid.

The location was great, and the hosts Véronique and Michel are super nice. I had an issue with my room which was promptly solved. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. It was very nice chatting with Véronique during breakfast.

Two improvements could be the room was very dark even with all of the lights on and the bed was more like a large single than a double, great if there’s one person staying but as a couple we didn’t find it the most comfortable.

The location was perfect literally a 2 min walk from the bus station, less than a 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants within 5 mins too! Yet it was set back enough so you didn’t get any street noise. The hosts were super lovely and welcoming, Veronique was really helpful with giving us places to visit and see and telling us shortcuts to beautiful beaches!! The room itself is basic but comfortable, we loved that it had a small table and chairs by the window to play cards/games in the evening, no hot water in the shower but this seems very standard for the DR, shower pressure was good though! The mosquito net was a great touch very handy in LG for someone who seems attract alll the mosquitos!

Even though the water outage was not their fault (street was being demolished) other places had emergency sources from tanks as it is apparently common. This hostel had only one emergency tank outside the room and the water was infested with parasites (visible inside, swirling around like tiny black looking hairs). Also, there was a construction going on next to my room. They were hammering walls so much that a wall paint flakes fell on my pillow from the ceiling. So overall, coming back from a whole day hike to no shower, water with parasites and workers pounding the wall next to you, it was a very bad experience overall.

Good location, close to the beach and restaurants. The staff was accommodating my request for reimbursement when the water stopped working and I had to leave.

It is similar to a lodge experience, very close to the natural beach and forest but at the same time few steps from the restaurants, markets and bus station. The golden sunset light goes straight into the room through the panoramic window. The enviroment is relaxing, calm and partially exclusive. The managers are very kind people too and really help you to feel like at home. The location is perfect, and Las Galeras has still a lot of nature to explore compared to similar locations. From the hotel you can walk to Rincon beach trough the hill and the farms that luckily have not closed the path. Another nice destination is Boca del Diablo from where you can hike to Fronton beach through a very cool forest sourranded by palms exotic vegetation and ocean. The place is never overcrowded (for now) and merchants are not aggressive. You'll be able to get your space and relax with nature. Absolutely raccomended.
