Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChileIt can be difficult to obtain a lounge in the privilege beach. The food in some a la carte restaurants could be better.
The staff was extremely caring and friendly. Great variety of food. The room was comfortable. The hotel looks in general well maintained, the gardens and the reception are very pretty. I really enjoyed the beach. The shows in the night were very fun to watch. I had a Privilege room, so it was good to also have access to the privilege lounge and beach zone.

United States1) The room smelled like algae 2) The floors weren't clean. We had to use a towel like a dust mop to get all the sand, dirt, etc. off the floor. 3) The Air Conditioner didn't work at all. The coldest that room got was 78 degrees, and the warmest was almost 85 degrees. Even after asking twice, the AC wasn't fixed, and we weren't able to change rooms..or even get a box fan. After waking up soaked in sweat 2 nights in a row, we checked out before going to bed on the 3rd night. 4) For an "All-Inclusive" resort, it's amazing how many things aren't included. For example, only Presidente is the included beer. The few other beers (IE: Corona, Heineken, Budweiser) are $6 per beer. Even bars in America don't charge that much.
It was right by the beach, and the pools were big, clean, and warm. The staff, for the most part, were friendly.

United StatesDo NOT go here...full review on Trip Advisor Seasoned travelers between DR & Cancun, multiple times per year. Never thought I’d find a place worse than Royalton…sadly I did.I originally booked direct - the Honeymoon Suite! Then I found it cheaper on booking.com. I emailed the hotel & they confirmed it was same room. I went with booking.com since hotel couldn’t match the price (and it was enough to make a difference). Note: I’ve always booked direct or used booking.com with zero issues. Upon our arrival, our Honeymoon Suite was not available until the next day (Never had this happen). Their explanation “not often, but it happens because so many places can book their hotel” But don’t worry - they are going to put us in a “fantastic” room for the 1st night & give us a free romantic dinner (which already came with the HS I booked). WELL, your “romantic dinner” is along the sidewalk across from rooms & where everyone walks past… and that fantastic room (8201) had no hot water & no working light switches (except the ceiling fan, thankfully). One of the bathroom lights was on all night. Honeymoon Suite was 6301 Never had hot water during 5 day stay Nothing "privilege" about being privileged Staff is not trained for service industry Get up before 6am to get a chair/umbrella at the pool or beach No waitstaff at pool to get your drinks Privilege beach area is very small Food is OK at best Spa is WAY overpriced So many more negatives.... This place really sucks!!!
the weather was amazing. the honeymoon suite was a nice size room

United StatesThe fact that I wasted 1/2 day in a presentation that I thought was supposed to be 30 mins per the Representative to show me around the resort, but instead it was about becoming a privileged member in the hotel chain.
The entertainment was the best throughout the day. A/C works very well in the room. I also booked a privilege room, which was very nice.. Luis, the Butler, reserved us a restaurant each day for dinner. Great view of the pool from.bldg 10. A lot of entertainment for your pleasure and the staff was very nice. Loved the shows put on by Pokémon, Cherry, Dilan, Scooby-Doo, and Cola and Chocolate. Very nice entertainment each nice. I will definitely be back

GuatemalaWe got sick at the property and we just consumed food and beverages from the place and even if we reported there was not a genuine wish to support us or giving different options. We ended up leaving one day prior and they only decided to follow the property rules due to the dates we were on.
The hotel had a lot of amenities and helps you suit most of your needs so that you don't have to go out from the property at all. That's a good part as you can enjoy without having to look for different options.

Dominican RepublicThe staff was a little rude. Waiter at dinner made the comment I don't speak Spanish when he wasn't listening to what beverage I wanted to drink. I was speaking in Spanish. He wasn't listening. He was focused on how many people were going to sit my husband and I. Which by the way my husband is Domincan we only communicate in Spanish and he was taken aback by the waiter. AC guy cine to the room and I start to explain to him the problem and he said something similar and looked to talk to my husband. Very misogynistic. We were on a 3rd floor and when we switched rooms we had to take our down 3 flights if stairs. No elevator to move rooms. When you check in they take luggage to your room. Drinks are bad. I've been traveling to the DR for 5 years. I have wanted to try Ocean Blue for awhile. I've stayed in many hotels in the DR and in comparison Ocean Blue is mediocre
Lively disco. Good DJ. Trains to take around property. AC didn't work in room properly. We called around 830 to get fixed. We came back around 130 still no ac. After second call they sent someone to investigate. We were switched to upgraded room. Negavative it shouldn't have taken 2 calls and our first call was within an hour of checking in.

United StatesStaff was very aggressive, men were cat calling me which made me extremely uncomfortable. Also staff busted in my door twice while I was in the shower after I told housekeeping to leave my room alone. Resort is extremely far from airport so be prepared to pay 40 dollars each way to airport. Food was lack luster. Drinks were good. I just hated the harassment.

South AfricaOur butler never contacted us as we booked the privilege package. The activities were extremely loud throughout the day so it’s really hard to find some relaxation at the pool or beach. The honeymoon suite looks out over the beach but is littered with garbage.

CanadaBeing approached upon arrival by time-share hyena was awful!! The trickery/hard sell is NOT appreciated. To be told "I am your concierge" and discover the person is selling is extremely offensive. Not my preferred style at all.
Great assortment of eateries. Most 'hot' food was luke warm by the time it arrived at the table. Lots of space due to fewer guests.
