Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe as a family had a fantastic 3 nights in the Steigenberger Nile Palace. The hotel has everything you need, is super clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! Especially Ibrahim at reception, Achmed at the pool, Arafat our taxiboat driver and Mona in the Spa were fantastic!!!!! The location is perfect with a nice view of the sunset over the Nile. A taxiboat to Karnak temple is 12€ roundtrip. The restaurants in the hotel are great especially the Thai restaurant! Thanks so much for everything!!!!

United Arab EmiratesThe Thai restaurant was just ok; rooms might need some upgrade (but nothing too drastic)
Staff was incredibly helpful, from early check in through room upgrades, change of rooms due to bed type etc all the way to communication and check out. We are spoiled travelers and yet this did stand out. Rooms are specious and clean (although one can guess their age), view is nice, food is good - everything one needs for a good holiday.

United KingdomCleanliness. There was a lot of black mould in the bathroom, especially under the handrails of the bath. Also, there was a lot of hair from the previous customer in the bath/shower.
Very good breakfast; friendly staff at reception and in the dining and bar areas.

Staff are awesome. Arafat who works on the boats and the Shisha bar is awesome. Friendly, reliable and a wealth of knowledge. The pool is heated, and the view of the Nile and the Valley in the distance is remarkable.

CanadaThere was nothing not to like. When stepping off the property you would be bombarded by multiple taxi drivers asking if you need a ride, but that is expected.
The Breakfast each morning was amazing, so much to choose from at the buffet. Option to sit inside or outside but would highly recommend dining outside while taking in the lovely views of the Nile river. All their in hotel dining establishments were delicious. The room was cleaned well each day and the staff was always happy to help with any question thrown at them. The tourism team made booking excursions quick and easy. The gym facilities were also great :)

AustriaWifi reception in the room (we were on the top floor), and would sometimes cut out completely for hours at a time - unacceptable for a five star hotel. The on-site restaurants weren't very good, and even though there are no diving signs by the pool, staff didn't enforce it.
Upon arrival, we were kindly upgraded from a city side room to an inner courtyard room, which I'm sure was much quieter. Room was big with plenty of lounging opportunities both inside and on the balcony, and featured a writing desk and TV with all sort of international channels. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Pool towels were provided.

The staff was exceptional. Mohamed the bar manager became my personal host I felt like a VIP. From the time he introduced himself upon my arrival to checkout I knew if I saw him he would take car of my needs. The recommended Italian dinner on the bar terrace and the Lebanese dinner by the riverfront was right so pleasing. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The hotel had everything you could need on the property. Truly a resort style destination. Looking forward to a return trip to Nile Palace.

United StatesIt was perfect!
This is a stunning property along the Nile. After a busy day touring, it was so relaxing lounging in the beach chairs along the Nile, watching the feluccas and the sunset. Spectacular!! The breakfast buffet is delicious from eggs made to order to falafels, fresh dates, salads, so much variety. We had a very comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. It was very quiet and comfortable. Slept peacefully every night. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
